    "I'm Pissed"

You know, I can appreciate a good series, but for the story to just end abruptly like that makes me feel like I got jipped. I mean when you read the description for the story, you're waiting on Camille to snap, hell I feel she has more than enough reason. And if her sister was gonna snap, it should've been on that crazy ass man she was seeing. I'm disappointed and I wish I could refund this. Not happy with this book. Not happy at all...

  • Darius Jones

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 10 mins)
    • By Mary B. Morrison
    • Narrated By Danella

Basketball star Darius Jones has it all. He's got a chance to become the league's most valuable player, and he's crazy in love with his wife and son. But just when Darius thinks everything's going right, a drunk driver slams into his car, leaving his wife, Fancy, in a coma with a slim chance of surviving.

    "Bad Sign"

I haven't read the book yet, but the fact that the preview for the book was her dedication page, is not a good sign.

The plot sounded interesting so I went ahead and purchased the book, but it kinda irritates me that the preview wasn't of the novel. I mean that's the WHOLE point right? I hope she's not trying to hide some of the narrators shortcomings by doing that, because that's just not right.

So we'll see, I'll be sure to give others a detailed review (without giving away the story of course) of the book just as soon as I've finished. (SMH)

  • Before the Dawn

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 17 mins)
    • By Beverly Jenkins
    • Narrated By Thomas Penny

Tavern manager Leah Barnett can scarcely believe the path that destiny has chosen for her. Travelling from Boston to Colorado, Leah has come to face Ryder Damien, the son of her mother's recently deceased lover. Ryder, an angry, ruggedly sexy man, is incensed that this woman will inherit his father's fortune-even if he hadn't seen the man in 30 years. But Leah's charms are many, and soon anger is the last thing in Ryder's heart.

    "Painfully Romantic"

I can always tell when I've truly enjoyed a novel because I'm heartbroken when it's concluded. I've become accustomed to Beverly Jenkins style of writing and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by this new twist. This story added a mystery to solve in the mist of all of the lusty dialog. I believe I've fallen in love with Ryder myself :)

Her description of him was so precise I could see his chiseled features as well as his intense eyes. For a character as complicated as Ryder, possessing his heart also meant to possess his pain. Leah was an endearing enough character to pull it off.

The antagonists in this story were plenty and the shocking revelations did not disappoint. I recommend this novel. Good job Beverly. Keep it up!

  • If It Ain’t One Thing

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 23 mins)
    • By Cheryl Robinson
    • Narrated By Karen Chilton
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Cheryl Robinson, a bright voice in African-American fiction, delivers a fresh tale of love in the modern world. Porter is a handsome Detroit firefighter who just got burned by his cheating girlfriend. Winona is a single mom who is getting by despite an old secret that haunts her. When Porter and Winona meet, they must face their pasts to allow their present romance to grow.

    Andra says: "Entertaining!"

I enjoyed this very much. A beautiful story about being steadfast in your love for another person. Acceptance, compassion and understanding, are all imperative elements for unconditional love. Not to mention one of the main characters; Porter had me laughing out loud. His logic really appealed to "my type" of humor. Good read... :)

  • Genevieve

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 33 mins)
    • By Eric Jerome Dickey
    • Narrated By Richard Allen
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Eric Jerome Dickey's boldly sensual new novel centers on what his fans love best - steamy romance and shocking betrayal. This is an edge-of-your-seat novel about a good man who loves his wife, Genevieve, but finds himself drawn against his best intentions into an affair - with his wife's sister. Both women have a mysterious and tragic past that raises the stakes in this fast-paced novel.

    "Genevieve Review"

Eric Jerome Dickey is just as sexy as he can be lol. Well I enjoyed this book in totality. What touched me the most was how (and I'll try not to give anything away) both main characters had to revert back to child hood. It was so sweet. I never realize how much I enjoy one of his novels until I have time to reflect afterward. Great Read...I recommend this book...

  • First Lady

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 16 mins)
    • By Carl Weber
    • Narrated By various

Carl Weber is the New York Times best-selling author of such fan favorites as So You Call Yourself a Man. The First Lady is the tale of a preacher's wife who learns she's dying and vows to find her husband another woman. There is no shortage of ladies who want her man, but will she be able to find a suitable replacement among the conniving church women?

    Natalie says: "Hallelujah!"
    "First Lady Review"

Let me begin with saying I love Carl Weber and respect him as a/an author. That being said I was disappointed with this novel. The idea of the plot put me in mind of the t.v. show "The Bachelor" The disappointment came because there were too many "loose ends" that weren't tied up, and a lot cliche' concepts. Perhaps I missed it, but what ever happened between Savanna and her father? Why didn't anything happen to Lisa Mae and Loretta for what they did to Marlene? Why didn't Deacon Black be held accountable for what he tried to do to Monique? It was almost as if he became tired of writing and was ready to wrap it up. The story had potential to be so much more than what it was. I did however laugh my a** off about Lisa Mae. She was out of control in so many ways. This has not turned me off so to speak from the rest of his writings, but I was disappointed.
