Charley Davidson isn’t your everyday, run-of-the-mill grim reaper. She’s more of a paranormal private eye/grim reaper extraordinaire. However, she gets sidetracked when the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, moves in next door. To further complicate matters, Reyes is her main suspect in an arson case. Charley has vowed to stay away from him until she can find out the truth... but then dead women start appearing in her apartment, one after another, each lost, confused, and terrified beyond reason.

Darynda Jones is the best! I love the chemistry between Charlie and Reyes. The characters interact so well and the story line just flows and I feel like I'm actually apart of the book. The wait and anticipation between each book is totally worth it. I am one happy reader/listener!

I listen to several different genres and Rhys Bowen's books rank up there with my favorites. Rhys makes her characters come to life for her readers and they have very distinct personalities. I love the chemistry between Georgie and Darcy! Queenie is such a disaster it's hilarious! Georgie's Granddad is a loveable character and one of my favorites. He always pulls through for Georgie! I love the suspense, mystery, romance, and comedy that Rhys incorporates into her books. I can't wait for the next one.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The series has potential, so I will give the second book a chance.

Would you recommend Scent of Darkness to your friends? Why or why not?

The ending was a big disappointment! I thought I skipped a chapter or something because it just left you hanging. I would've liked more of a conclusion.

Sometimes being the grim reaper really is that. Grim. And since Charley’s last case went so awry, she has taken a couple months off to wallow in the wonders of self-pity. But when a woman shows up on her doorstep convinced someone is trying to kill her, Charley has to force herself to rise above. Or at least get dressed. She quickly realizes something is amiss when everyone the woman knows swears she’s insane.

Would you consider the audio edition of Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet to be better than the print version?

I would highly recommend listening to the audio edition of Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet. The Charley Davidson series is awesome and Lorelei's narration enhances the whole experience.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the entire basis of the series. Charley's sassy and snarky personality is awesome!! There were so many funny parts. I especially liked when Charley tried to order a taco with extra salsa at Harper's father's house. Her avoidance/redirection of direct questions and her retorts are too funny!!Charley's chaotic accident prone ADD personality reminds me a little bit of myself, minus the grim reaper part of course haha.

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Lorelei King never disappoints!!!! She is amazing <3. I listen to pretty much anything Lorelei narrates.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Who knew the Grim Reaper would be a shiny beacon of light?!?

    Any additional comments?

Darynda Jones' is a great and talented author. I highly recommend her Charlotte "Charley" Davidson series!!

The narrator kept calling the characters by the wrong names!!! It was very frustrating because it would throw me off everytime. I had to make a mental note everytime he said Collin he meant Kahlan. I wonder what Terry Goodkind would say about this. Didn't someone review this before they put it on Audible?? I think the narrator Sam Tsoutsouvas who read Wizard's First Rule was the best!!! His narration was captivating.
