Mike Daisey worked at Amazon.com for nearly two years during the dot-com frenzy of the late nineties. Now that his nondisclosure agreement has expired, he can tell the real story - one that blends tech culture, hero worship, cat litter, Albanian economics, and venture capitalism into a surreal cocktail of delusion.

"A Hilarious Look at the Early Days of Amazon.com"
    Overall

Mike offers an excellent look at the inside of America's sweetheart Internet company. His narrative is delivered with excellence and his material is completely hilarious.

This book was a very easy read and I found it hard to stop listening.

Retired FBI Agent Candice DeLong has tailed terrorists, gone undercover as a gangster's moll, and was one of the agents chosen to carry out the manhunt for the Unabomber in Montana. Now she explains how she helped solve several of these incredible cases and more.

Frances says: "Fascinating - Did Not Want It to End"
    "Must-Read for FBI Hopefuls"
    Overall

An excellent look into the FBI's training and the career of an agent. It should be required reading for anyone who thinks they have what it takes. It shows both the good and the bad of a career in the FBI. The author does a great job of reading this story and the material is hard to put down.

Edwin Black has now uncovered one of the last great mysteries of Germany's war against the Jews - how did Hitler get the names? In this groundbreaking audiobook, Black himself tells the stunning story of IBM's strategic alliance with Nazi Germany.

    Jeffrey says: "Terribly Informative"
    "Very Interesting"
    Overall

An interesting and eye-opening look at how IBM helped the Nazis do their worst. I always wondered how they could track and find that many Jews and this book answers that question.

The narrative is rather bothersome though. I found it hard to concentrate on the story.

Murray Zetterholm says: "King Fans Will Love Dreamcatcher"
    "A Great Story"
    Overall

King has done it once again with a complicated story of friends who must overcome the worst. This book is heavily reminiscent of "Stand By Me" with its flashbacks to childhood but completely original. I enjoyed the story completely but the swearing was a bit much.

    Jean-Pierre says: "A must-hear audiobook !"
    "Funny with Great Advice"

I found this book useful but it's geared more for those people who just can't say "no" at all. It is very funny in some of the conversations and voices used to make its points. It's an easy read with some good advice.

Focusing on the 24 hours of June 6, 1944 - D-Day brings to life the stories of the men and women who made history - from top Allied and Axis strategic commanders to the citizen soldiers whose heroic initiative saved the day.

TomD says: "Great Lead into Band of Brothers"
"Excellent Coverage of a Great Sacrifice"
    Overall

Ambrose does a great job of describing the events that we now know as D-Day. Ambrose does a great job of delivering his work and an even better job with his writing. This is a great historical treasure of the successes, failures, and sacrifices of World War II.

Grammy Winner for Best Spoken Comedy Album
Performed by George Carlin himself, and filled with thoughts, musings, questions, lists, beliefs, curiosities, monologues, assertions, assumptions, and other verbal ordeals, Brain Droppings is infectiously funny.

New! Don't miss our AudibleComedy combo, featuring original humor from standups Greg Proops and Steve Marmel.

    Ray says: "Interesting"
    "Funny"
    Overall

If you like George Carlin, you'll like this rather unorthodox book. But be warned: this is just a printed version of his HBO comedy specials. George is the only one who could read this work and make it funny...and he does it very well.

You look good. Your resume is impressive. You fit the job description perfectly. But that's not enough to get the job you want. You need 101 Great Answers before you walk through the door.

Floor says: "Great cram session for an interview!"
    "It works"
    Overall

I've used this book in numerous interviews and the material is solid. The advice is priceless and it works very well. Of course, recent changes in interview tactics do undermine some of the topics in here (especially when salary must be reported). Yet the material remains relevant and the narrative is great.

Listen as Frank tells in his own inimitable voice his story of how at the age of 19 he traveled from Limerick to New York in pursuit of the American dream. Despite the abundance of unsolicited advice he gets to "join the cops" and "stick to his own kind", Frank knows that he should educate himself and somehow rise above his circumstances.

Stanley says: "A second delightful helping"
"An excellent follow-up to Angela's Ashes"
    Overall

This book is the continuing story of Frank McCourt's life as told by the author. I found his narrative excellent and his delivery of an already humorous look at his life very entertaining. This book is not as hopeless as Angela's Ashes but it does show us how unfortunate others are.
