In the sixth book of the Magykal series, Alther Mella has been banished, a Darke Domaine engulfs the Castle, and a Darke dragon is on the loose. Septimus Heap must use all of his skills to save the Castle and the Wizard Tower from destruction: He must enter the Darke. But he cannot do this alone....

I love the Septimus Heap series and was very excited for a new book. I love the progression of the story and very much look forward to the next one. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed in Gerard's narration in this book. He narrated the previous four books and was absolutely supreme. He did so many different and fun voices for all of the characters. A lot of that was missing from Darke. The voices weren't as distinguishable as they had been previously and that was a bit disappointing. However, it won't deter me from listing to this book dozens of time like I have the previous ones.

In rural 1800s England, things go bad for a young matchmaker after she finds a man for another woman. Emma is considered by many to be Austen's finest novel. The book has been adapted countless times to stage, film, and television.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The narration is poor, unedited, and unskilled. There is no attempt to distinguish characters, no understanding of pacing, pause or breath to help the listener follow rapid conversations. I have never given up on an audio book before but this one was so bad I couldn't stand to finish it.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jane Leclercq?

    Anyone else.
