  • Walking Shadow: A Spenser Novel

    • ABRIDGED (5 hrs and 51 mins)
    • By Robert B. Parker
    • Narrated By Daniel Parker

Spenser is investigating the Port City Theater Company, where the director claims he's being stalked. When an actor is shot dead during a performance, all clues lead to the local Chinese Mafia, whose roots run deep in this drab waterfront city. With Hawk and ex mobster Vinnie assisting, Spenser eventually triumphs in one of his most compelling adventures.

Amazon Customer says: "If I could give this no stars"

I mistakenly did not listen to the sample narration before downloading, and I was bitterly disappointed. I love Robert B. Parker, and Spenser novels. This narrator is lispy and effeminate, and if you know Spenser and Hawk, it just doesn't work. It's a joke. If you love Spenser novels, you will be very upset. If this is your first, you will be cheated. Joe Mantegna is a good reader of Spenser novels-he has that tough guy voice. Choose one of those.

  • Finger Lickin' Fifteen

    • UNABRIDGED (6 hrs and 18 mins)
    • By Janet Evanovich
    • Narrated By Lorelei King

Recipe for disaster: Celebrity chef Stanley Chipotle comes to Trenton to participate in a barbecue cook-off and loses his head - literally. Throw in some spice: Bail bonds office worker Lula is witness to the crime, and the only one she'll talk to is Trenton cop, Joe Morelli. Pump up the heat: Chipotle's sponsor is offering a million-dollar reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the capture of the killers.

    Connie says: "A little Disappointed"
    "Finger Lickin' Fifteen (Unabridged)"

I love Stephanie Plum. I love Janet Evanovich. I was thrilled to have number 15-but a little let down. The romance, which I really look forward to, was not as satisfying-I need MORE Joe, MORE Ranger! The humor, though, was GREAT! I laughed out loud-funny funny funny! Stephanie Plum is still great, Lula is my favorite, Grandma is the best! If you are a Ste;phanie Plum fan, you have to read this!

  • A Morning for Flamingoes: A Dave Robicheaux Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 10 mins)
    • By James Lee Burke
    • Narrated By Mark Hammer
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Dave Robicheaux felt the bone-grinding pain rip through his body as the .45 did its damage. Through the agonizing haze that enveloped him, he heard an almost inhuman laugh - the hideous, victorious cackling of Jimmie Lee Boggs - a sound he would never forget. It had started out as an ordinary prisoner transfer, then turned into a blood bath when the convicted murderer got hold of a gun.

Ed says: "Burke is an outstanding novelist"
    "An Excellent Book and Narration"

Any James Lee Burke fan will be pleased, and any new listener will be spoiled for any other narrator. Mark Hammer's voice is rich and full of character and soul-he makes you feel the heart break. The writing is so descriptive, you can see the character's faces, smell the air around them, feel their fear, or humor, or anger. Wonderful.
