Jean Marsh, who played Rose in the TV series 'Upstairs Downstairs', reads John Hawkesworth’s classic novelisation. It is 1905, and the Bellamys reside in Eaton Place, in the heart of London’s Belgravia. Above stairs, Lady Marjorie runs the house and plans her husband’s future in the government. Below stairs, Rose and Sarah, the maids, pursue their duties beneath the ever-watchful eye of Mr Hudson, the butler....

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Really liked the story and the reader, but this seems like a first copy of the audio, no editing. You can hear the directions given to the reader and she stops and starts several times, repeating what she just read, so obviously someone screwed up in the editing room or audible got the wrong version.

What about Jean Marsh???s performance did you like?

    She reads beautifully.

Do you think Upstairs Downstairs needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Yes, I loved the story and was sad to have it end, even with the glaring errors in recording.

    Any additional comments?

Just a question, did you guys get the correct copy? If this is an error that can be corrected, I'd like to have mine replaced with the corrected version. I would like to listen to it again.
