The fourth edition of Basic Economics is both expanded and updated. A new chapter on the history of economics itself has been added, and the implications of that history examined. Among other additions throughout the book, a new section on the special role of corporations in the economy has been added to the chapter on government and big business.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Perhaps but it failed to offer differing perspectives.

What could Thomas Sowell have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

In the last portion of the book when Thomas Sowell explained the different branches of Economics and it's history, I found that more worthwhile than everything prior.

Based on 18 months of reporting, Woodward's 17th book The Price of Politics is an intimate, documented examination of how President Obama and the highest profile Republican and Democratic leaders in the United States Congress attempted to restore the American economy and improve the federal government's fiscal condition over three and one half years. The Price of Politics addresses the key issue of the presidential and congressional campaigns: the condition of the American economy.

The story is good and provides insight but has such detailed narratives (the constant back and forth asking for more cuts or revenue) that one can easily become lost.

Every time Bill Bryson walks out the door, memorable travel literature threatens to break out. His previous excursion on the Appalachian Trail resulted in the best seller A Walk in the Woods. Now, we follow him "Down Under" to Australia with this delectably funny, fact-filled, and adventurous performance that combines humor, wonder, and unflagging curiosity. More from Bill Bryson.

What did you love best about In a Sunburned Country?

The book gave a personal perspective to the country while adding in its history to give more further context.
