Perhaps but it failed to offer differing perspectives.
In the last portion of the book when Thomas Sowell explained the different branches of Economics and it's history, I found that more worthwhile than everything prior.
The story is good and provides insight but has such detailed narratives (the constant back and forth asking for more cuts or revenue) that one can easily become lost.
The book gave a personal perspective to the country while adding in its history to give more further context.
