Ben Mears has returned to Jerusalem's Lot in the hopes that living in an old mansion, long the subject of town lore, will help him cast out his own devils and provide inspiration for his new book. But when two young boys venture into the woods and only one comes out alive Mears begins to realize that there may be something sinister at work and that his hometown is under siege by forces of darkness far beyond his control.

Would you listen to Salem's Lot again? Why?

No. Simply because I already know the story. I never read a book or listen to an audible book more than once.

Have you listened to any of Ron McLarty’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No

    Any additional comments?

Salem's Lot was the only book written by Stephen King that I have never ready. I had tried to read it several times and for some reason just could not get past the first chapter. I loved the audio version very much. It was a great story and very captivating. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to listen to the audio version as I don't know that I would have ever read the book. Ron McLarty did a great job narrating.

Michael Severance survived five tours of duty with the Air Force in the war torn Middle East. But he could not survive five months of marriage to Wendi Davidson. Wendi, a young veterinarian in the isolated city of San Angelo, Texas, decided the solution to her problem was to give her husband a lethal injection.

What made the experience of listening to A Poisoned Passion the most enjoyable?

The narrator did a good job. I read true crime books a lot and this wasn't one of my top 10 but I definatly enjoyed the read.

What did you like best about this story?

Diane Fanning is one of my favorite authors. She does a great job of delivering the facts of the case in True Crime books.

What does Shelby Lewis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Shelby Lewis did a good job narrating the book. I am able to listen on my one hour commute to and from work.
