    If you prefer to fall in love with the main characters of your novels, or at least really like them, than this won't be a great pick. There's a whole lot to dislike about the 2 women at the centre of this book and the questionable choices that bring them together, but it nevertheless makes for a great listen. The ending? Visceral. Wrenching. Perfect. You'll be thinking about this one long after its over.

    Before I became "Phil Town, teacher of investing principles to more than 500,000 people a year", I was a lot like you: someone who viewed individual stock investing as way too hard to do successfully. As a guy who barely made a living as a river guide, I considered the whole process pretty impenetrable, and I was convinced that to do it right you had to make it a full-time job. Me, I was more interested in having full-time fun.

    This book is fabulous inspiration for taking charge of your own financial future. The author does a great job reading his own material; his voice is warm and likeable - it is like getting great advice from a friend. Bear in mind though that this is an abridged edition and doesn't really cover the nitty-gritty details of Rule investing. To really put the Rule into practice, you will have to buy the hard copy of the book. But you may still find yourself re-listening to this audio version for calm reassurance and added inspiration.
