I read a lot of the reviews and they all said the narrations weren’t very good. As one said review said it didn’t sound very British. As a Welsh American I can tell you it sounds Welsh not everyone in Great Britain sound like some one out of London. The Welsh have their very own sound just like the Scottish and Irish. All Celtics sound different. I would hope that you would understand that Wales is its own country with its own language and customs. We are very proud of being welsh and we have worked very hard to keep those things that make us Welsh alive both in Wales and around the World. I feel the Narrator did an admiral job with the accent many well known actors say they have a hard time with the accent. So when you listen to this book please look at it as a way of also of a way of enjoying a beautiful country a people. Maybe learn a little about a country in the British Isle that doesn’t get written about in fiction at least on this side of the pond.
Story is set in Wales
very good Welsh Accent
While I'm not sure if they are against the oil fields out west (in western ND) sure. If they are getting a check (from the oil companies) no. If they are just looking for a book set here in North Dakota I would. So for me it all depends on the person.
One thing is people do not stand out side in the middle of December in North Dakota with out coats on unless we have some kind of freaky warm winter. Since the writers stated there had been blizzards it's not that warm. Yes we will walk around with a jacket at 32 degree above 0 but Dorgan knows better how cold it can be. The wind chill alone would have given frost bite. He also knows what its like when we have winter storms up here.
A little more realism would be nice when it comes to the environment and how the characters live in would be nice!
The Posse has also been active in ND. There is a very famous case about it. They made a TV movie about it (not filmed here they had mountains in the background) Dorgan knows that as well.
I would reduce the peachiness of anti oil. I like the idea of exploring alterative fuels so our oil here in ND will last longer.
This was a good performance. I have in the past turned books off because the performances were so bad. I will look for Mr. Berkrot's performances in the future.
For me it was nice to here a book set in North Dakota there is very few especially thrillers or mysteries. If you are looking for something different. There are some twists and turns which was nice.
I am not sure how they will turn it a series the authors have come out with another book. I do plan to listen to that one just to see how it progresses.
Yes, this was an enjoy listen, I usually figure out mysteries out but this one did keep me guessing for quite sometime. I loved the use of all the famous people as characters in the book
to a point it's no Vince Flynn but for a light listen yes it does.
I normally do not enjoy female readers, but I did enjoy her preformances. She is very good at all the accents which makes it nice to keep track of the characters. She does give each character their own voice a book I recently listened to was very hard to keep track of everyone because everyone sounded the same. This was a true preformance not just a reading of the book.
I have listened to the entire series and can't wait until the next one. I have also donated the book the hard cover version of the book to my local library (I live in a town of 800 our library need donations to help with buying books there isn’t a big budget) so that people can also discover this series of books. I plan to donate the entire series in hard cover.
