Tassaa Bareesh, a matriarch in the Hutt crime cartel, is holding an auction that’s drawing attention from across the galaxy. Representatives of both the Republic and the Sith Empire are present, along with a Jedi Padawan sent to investigate, a disenfranchised trooper drummed out of the Republic’s elite Blackstar Squad, and a mysterious Mandalorian with a private agenda.

    Any additional comments?

I'm a Star Wars fan, but didn't play the Old Republic video games, and only dabble into the non-movie stories when I have time. In order to get my fix I tried this Old Rebublic book, and eventually listened to the entire three series set. The story was engaging and action packed. Actually, I found all the stories in the Old Republic set to be this way. Granted, I personally found "Revan" to be a bit slower than "Fatal Alliance" and "Deception", but I can definitely recommend it for any type of Star Wars fan. And don't worry if you are a casual fan like me: there's plenty of detail to keep you up to speed on the characters so you won't feel lost. The highlight of these stories for me though, was the narrator, Marc Thompson. This was my introduction to his work, and I'm very impressed. In addition to his work, unlike many other audiobooks, the Star Wars audiobooks enhance the narration with sound effects. I feel this is particularly well-suited for these types of stories, because nothing makes you feel like you're there like the humming of a lightsaber coming to life, or some evil Sith speaking through a voice-enhanced mask.
