"Really good and nice surprise!"
This is the first book of this series that I have read and it was so well done that I didn't realize it was the 5th book in the series. The past was mentioned, but you didn't need to have read the other books to understand everything and follow along or to totally fall in love with the series. The characters are quirky, entertaining, and well developed. The story kept you guessing and switching between potentially guilty parties. The narrator was nice to listen to and read at a good pace. When I finished this one, it made me want to reach for the next! Overall, it was a really pleasant and fast listen!
"Best of the Dresden Files so far"
I have enjoyed these books, but this one really stands above the first two. This book is filled with suspense and edge of your seat excitement. Harry gets into one fix after the other and by the end, it is hard to see how he could possibly get out of trouble. Every time I start listening to one of these books, the narrator bugs me - the droning quality of his narration, but I always get used to it and by the end find that I really enjoyed listening.
