I would definitely listen to this book again. Bernard Lewis presents a very good overview of Islam from a scholarly perspective.
His performance was okay, but there were several parts that sounded awkward.
This is an excellent introduction to Islam by a recognized scholar in the field. I listened to this book while driving in my car. Every moment listening to this book was time well spent.
This book is an excellent collection of meditations based on the rule of the Secular Franciscan Order, but the narrator performed poorly for the recording. I ended up buying the e-book version from Amazon. After reading through the e-book version, I also think that this book is not suitable for the audio book format.
Do not buy this audio book. Get a text edition.
Listening the Pope Benedict XVI's book Jesus of Nazareth was excellent. I have the paperback version of this book, but I wanted to listen to it while driving in my car or before going to bed.
I think this is a great one to have if you are a Catholic who wants to have greater insight into the person of Jesus from the pope's personal theological perspective, but it might be a little dense for people who do not have any theological background (which I am lucky to have). You will need the paperback version of this book if you want to do a serious study, but the audio version is fine if you want to make it more of a meditation.
If you are interested in reading this book, I would get a paperback edition. The narration was unbearable. Do not waste your money on this audio book.
