I can't have been hearing the same book as the other reviewers, unless they are fascinated by by the word "nipples" or the rest of the soft porn. This book has no redeeming features. I really would like my money back.

I war ready to quit Audible after 550 books, and finding most of the new literature since about 2010, shallow, often disgusting, and a waste of money. After listening to this book and the narration by Colin Firth, I am staying with Audible as long as I can find books of this quality!

One likes to have a reason to read/listen to a story. It was so depressing, that it was hard to find a reason to finish, but I storied on. If this is the "new" literature, give me the old.

I really enjoyed this story. I had just listened to The Dog Stars where every emotion was express by the number of F_____s our hero expressed. The Rosenblum story completely absorbed you in the emotions of the characters of the story. You felt their anger, their embarrassment, their joy. Solomons rote a book that you listened to, then listen to it again, to see what you missed. She didn't need the F word to express emotion. Thank goodness.

All I can say is, I loved this novel. I read it 30 years ago and enjoyed it as much from Audible. Great performance.

I enjoy Pat Conroy books, but... I had some issues with this one. The constant "wise cracks" got annoying, the subtle, or not too subtle, political stereotyping was also annoying. Mike's mock "town trial" was unbelievable. Other than that, it was very good.

At times, this is a good story, well read. However, the explicit sex scenes that seemed to be stuck in the story because some editor said, "Add sex" wrecked the story.

The story had a difficult beginning. The narration by the author was not an asset. But I have listened to most of the story 3 times and have enjoyed it more with each listen.

I don't think I was listening to the same book as many of the other reviewers. Part 1 was enough for me.

Do authors sometimes write, and add detail, to fill pages? Part of this detail was instructional, part indoctrination, part useless. There was a good story, but it was buried under the details.
