A comet the color of blood and flame cuts across the sky. And from the ancient citadel of Dragonstone to the forbidding shores of Winterfell, chaos reigns. Six factions struggle for control of a divided land and the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms, preparing to stake their claims through tempest, turmoil, and war.

    "A Marvelous adventure!"
    Overall

I am absolutely hooked on this series. I wait breathlessly for the fourth book in the series to be read by Roy Dotrice, who is a master of voices and accents and passionate oration. He really brought these books to life. I bow on my knees to Mr. Martin and cry, "We're not worthy, milord." The entire book is filled with colors and sounds and smells of a medieval setting, but the intrigue is worthy of the Bush Administration!

As opposing forces maneuver for the final titanic showdown, an army of barbaric wildlings arrives from the outermost line of civilization. In their vanguard is a horde of mythical Others, a supernatural army of the living dead whose animated corpses are unstoppable. As the future of the land hangs in the balance, no one will rest until the Seven Kingdoms have exploded in a veritable storm of swords.

    Overall

A Storm of Swords has taken its rightful place amongst the most honored and beloved of fantasy fiction. Mr. John R. R. Tolkien, scoot over man, Mr George R. R. Martin needs a place of honor on the shelf. Maybe it's the double R's? In any case, A Storm of Swords takes you on an emotional run as the Song of Ice and Fire series becomes more cruel to it's victims and more hopeful in the magic of some characters. Characters I have fallen in love with, have died, or not died, but always to my surprise. But I do believe Tyrion is my favorite. I think I could go for a little dwarfish fellow with such a wit and heart. This is the third book, but now we must wait for the story to continue. This one was read in total excellence by Roy Dotrice, as I hope the next will be. So do hurry, Mr. Martin! What happens next???
