With the recent vampire craze lately, I was already apprehensive about ANOTHER vampire story. That was quickly put at ease within the first few chapters. Moore's satirical wit and uniquely flawed characters make for the best vamp book I've read since the Ann Rice series... but this is far more fun to read. I can't wait to start on the next one: You Suck!

A fantastically written story with the same stream-of-thought narrative you would expect from writers like Chuck Palahniuk. Down right disturbing, hysterical, and tragic all that the same time. The length is just right and the story is solid and very authentic feeling. I usually hate sound effects and music in audio books, this was done just right and really helped to bring the story to life. A great listen all the way through.

No where near as many twists and turns as his previous titles, but Chuck's warped "not so bad" version of hell is pretty amusing. The menial reasons people are damned really cracked me up.

The character development of Madison from beginning to end went where I never expected, and when I read that last line, "to be continued", I curses the heavens and can't wait for the next part in this trilogy.

Overall, this isn't literary art, this is simply a fun book not to be taken too seriously.

Enjoy it for what it is.

I came in expecting a book about aliens; but found that the factual history of the base was far more fascinating. And what Ms. Jacobsen believes really happened in the events surrounding Roswell are FAR more devious and terrifying than some little green men. Bravo on an exception work. The only reason I gave it 4 stars over 5 was the dryness of the story telling, like I was listening to a college lecture.

Such an amazing story! This clever and fun story did for Monsters what "Men in Black" did for aliens. This story had such a fun and eclectic cast of characters that I couldn't wait to jump in my car and hear more of this story. This is most definitely a fun book to read and laugh along to, so long as you don't mind a cynical jerk as your lead character. I got a kick out of it.

Sorry Chuck, I love you man, but this story lacked so much in plot that it hurt my soul. I figured everything out within an hour into it. This is brilliantly constructed in the sense that he really styled this perfectly with the time period and the psychosis of the narrator. But the plot just fell flat and I became lost in a sea of names of old Hollywood big-wigs.

Dare I say it's the best book I've ever listened to? Absolutely. The ensemble cast of readers really bring the unique format of this story alive. It probably took me about 1/4 the way in to really get into it and love the narrative, but once I got over the hump I was immersed in the world of Rant Casey... and my God! The ending is phenomenal!

A great relief swept over me as Dearly Devoted Dexter and his dark passenger once again took to the forefront of happily dismembering the bodies of the wicked... without a biblical supernatural god breathing down his neck, of course (Dexter in the Dark). This is an excellent story and beautifully read by Nick Landrum once again. My only beef with this particular story is that smart, cunning and witty Dexter was lost to a being a bumbling idiot for most of this book... seeming to be -dare I say- all too human. I'm used to Dexter being two steps ahead of me and everyone else, but in this story, he seemed to be dumbed down to fit into the plot. There were all too many times that I said "Duh Dexter, put two & two together already, does it need to slap you across the face". That said, I really did get sucked into this story and would highly recommend it to other Dexter fans. I'm very much looking forward to reading "Dexter is Delicious" this fall.

I am absolutely obsessed with the Dexter novels. The first two were amazing, part 2 being by far my absolute favorite. This part however strayed too far from what makes Dexter great and it lost some of it's natural charm. Namely the introduction of a supernatural god made me lose interest... ironically, the loss of the Dark Passenger also made me lose interest. What's the fun in reading about a serial killer who doesn't kill anyone? Regardless, I enjoyed the narrative throughout and had a lot of laughs. I look forward to the next one where I hope for the return of my friend Dangerously Devious Dexter.

This book is brilliant in so many ways. Not only is it unique in a "Dead Like Me" sort of way, but the array of quirky characters really make for an amazing story. The narration was not only incredibly visual and interesting, but also down right hysterical. I caught myself laughing out loud alone in my car. This is one of the few books I would gladly listen to again, I'll share with a friend next time.
