headline says it all. this book was surprisingly funny without loosing any credibility. i like it a lot.

I think this is the best zombie story I've ever dome across. I love it! dont miss book 2

this is a great story Ben Bova has done a great job with it and the narrator Stefan Rudnicki does a fantastic job as always HOWEVER there are several places throughout the book where all the different "takes" from the author are included one after another. what i mean is a sentence is repeated three or four times each time with a slightly different inflection in the narrators voice. then the story just continues on as normal for a while till you get to the next one. I'm half way through the book and so far the most notable occurrence of this is in chapter 24 starting about 3:40.

this is a great read, all content no filler. my kind of book. you gotta love a book thats actually about what the cover and title suggest. hehe

i was skeptical, usually when a book about social issues is as popular as this one it turns out to filled with naive pie in the sky thinking and tons and tons of verbal filagry. but this was very good, lots of facts, lots of questions. a bit to much personal musing by the author for my tastes. but all in all well worth the credit. i dont think i will ever forget the section about sh*t soup. no more chicken for me thanks.

if your new to the issue of climate change (which at this point i don't see how you could be.) then this is great place to start your education. there is little in the way of "advanced concepts" but lots of good information presented in plain English. I think that will make it accessible to a wide range of folks who are just beginning to ask meaningful questions about climate change and our response to it.

the review title pretty much says it all. also pollan has a strong tendency to portray his opinions as though their accepted facts. this is seriously irritating as those opinions which he presents this way are almost always either out right wrong or have no hard data about them to form with certainty an opinion either way.

this book is read by Spencer Wells who sounds like he is Very closely related to the "text to voice" feature that blind folks use on their computers. Every single sentence has the exact same cadence, There is no annunciation, inflection or general human tendency to sound as though your among the living. Its a shame because the subject material is deeply fascinating. You just cant get into it with a narrator who speaks with such profound monotony that he often fails to pause between sentences and at times paragraphs! come on.

Interesting and informative but lacking focus. the whole book is a kind of a mass of side tangents.
Woods did a much better job with his book "Meltdown".
