"Coming home from work to find my boyfriend banging our hairy, married landlord—in our bed—was bad enough. Discovering Jamie had also cleaned out my bank accounts made it officially the worst day of my life. I think I can be forgiven for wanting revenge, even if a few little laws (and possibly Jamie's nose) got bent in the process."

Would you consider the audio edition of Men of Smithfield: Mark and Tony to be better than the print version?

Yes. I read this story a couple of years ago when it was entitled "Gobsmacked". It was the first story I read by Mrs. Gregg and I enjoyed it so much, I purchased others. I never could have imagined the characterizations in my head as interpreted by the narrator.

What did you like best about this story?

It was hilarious and I could see myself reacting in many of the same ways as Mark. The bible incident at the church had me guffawing out loud. Good thing I was at home alone and not at work while listening.

Have you listened to any of Shannon Gunn’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was the first book that I actually listened to that Mr. Gunn narrated, but not the first one I purchased. I love his narrative skills. He has a way with accents and he emotes very well. I hope to hear a lot more from him.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Completely Gobsmacked would do it justice. It describes perfectly the emotions Mark felt during the horrific chain of events before his HEA.

Hurry and release the rest of the series!

Would you try another book from Jane Seville and/or Alan Smith?

I would like to read the sequel if Ms. Seville writes it. Mr. Smith's narrative skills are not to my taste. He's a bit wooden when emotion is needed an over zealous when things could be toned down. He reads like he was picked on to do it and just wants to get it over with.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It wrapped up ok. I would like to find out how they dealt with life afterward.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

    See above.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

    A more skilled narrator.

What made the experience of listening to Bad Idea the most enjoyable?

I comprehended the story much better by listening to it. For some reason, reading it was a bit difficult and slow. That's not normally the case.

I liked the interactions with Max.

Which character – as performed by Charlie David – was your favorite?

    Max

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    There were several.

I'm glad the audio version was made available. I'd put off finishing the ebook and I really did want to read it. I like Charlie as a narrator and hope to hear more from him.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely would recommend. The characters are like people in real life. One minute you want to hug them and the next you want to strangle them. The mystery kept me glued to the story and I do love a good mystery.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jae-Sin. He was realistic about his situation and verbalized it very matter of factly. People from many cultures are faced with more difficult decisions when they're gay and many times throughout the story I wanted to smack Cole in the back of his head for not being more sensitive to this. I was thrilled when he finally got it.

Which character – as performed by Greg Tremblay – was your favorite?

    Scarlet

Who was the most memorable character of Dirty Kiss, Book 1 and why?

Jae-Sin. He faced his life with dignity and though I wouldn't have made the same choices he did when it came to his family, I understand and respect them.

    Any additional comments?

Can't wait for the second installment.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would. The mystery was intriguing and I like how Jake and Adrien are finally on the same page.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Dark Tide?

for me it was when they visited the owner of The Tide in the nursing home. I have made that trip quite often myself and relate to the situation all to well. Visiting a resident one day, and the next day they are gone with no warning. Brought back memories...

What does Chris Patton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Chris is very talented and his voice is also quite soothing. He fits these novels perfectly and lately is seems as if pairing the right book with the right narrator is very challenging. I love these stories as the written word, but Chris adds an extra dimension to them. To me they are all worth the credits. Good job, Josh.

If you could rename The Dark Tide, what would you call it?

    I wouldn't.....

Yup. I love the story and I love Charlie David as a narrator. It's heart warming as well as hot.

What other book might you compare Hot Head to and why?

Frat House Troopers. The main characters are good friends who work together and one of them has to perform in porn videos although for different reasons.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The first time Griffin agrees to perform with Dante.

State trooper Brandt's new assignment to infiltrate a sex-cam operation puts him in a very uncomfortable position, especially since he'll have to perform naked on camera for his audition. Where does Frat House Troopers rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I've listened to many books and don't know if I can rank it, but I can give it an A for Amazing.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Even though he was in it for just a minute, I'd have to say it was Nestor. He was so funny and I loved the way he was voiced. Very campy and I could see him very clearly in my mind's eye.

What does Peter Brooke bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Bravo, Mr. Brooke. He has a talent for characterizations and accents. He gives very distinctive voices to each person and makes them very real.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I loved this book when I read it, but hearing it made me happy and sad. I laughed out loud while listening at work, and at some parts would have cried if I weren't afraid that my makeup would run or my co-workers would ask me a million questions as to why I was so upset.

    Any additional comments?

I am so happy that such a great book and talented narrator were teamed up. That hasn't happened with many of the audiobooks I've listened to lately. I hope Dreamspinner has more work for Peter and that other books by Mr. Mayne are in audiobook format.

If you could sum up An Unconventional Courtship in three words, what would they be?

    Sweet, moving, romantic

What was one of the most memorable moments of An Unconventional Courtship?

I love their interactions in the Virgin Islands. Webber went out of his way to romance Kincaid. It was beautifully written.

Which character – as performed by Finn Sterling – was your favorite?

Webber. I loved his soft southern accent. He also did a very passable Caribbean patois.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but I had to work the next day.

    Any additional comments?

Please give Finn more work. I am very impressed with his narrative skills. If more books were read by him or other narrators with his talent, I'd be broke from buying them.

For Lieutenant Eve Dallas of the NYPSD, the job is a useful reminder of what she has to be grateful for this season. Hosting Roarke's big Irish family for the holiday may be challenging, but it’s a joyful improvement on her own dark childhood. Other couples aren’t as lucky as Eve and Roarke. The Reinholds, for example, are lying on the floor of their Downing Street apartment, stabbed and bludgeoned almost beyond recognition. Those who knew them are stunned - and even more heartbroken by the overwhelming evidence that they were murdered by their own son.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Listening to the story was not the problem. Susan Ericksen is excellent as usual. I find no fault with her narrative skills. The content is what I can't deal with. If I had to put a label on this, it would be 'torture porn'. I can't recall when I've been repulsed more.

What was most disappointing about J. D. Robb’s story?

There is way too much explicit violence IMO. I fell asleep at one point and when I woke, it was when the antagonist was abusing an animal. That ended it for me. I know this stuff happens, but I don't want to read about it.

Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Again, I have no problems with the narration. Susan is among my favorites. She never disappoints.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Thankless in Death?

    Do you have all day...?

    Any additional comments?

I sincerely enjoy the 'In Death' series and until this installment, had been very happy and excited to get each book. Before I purchased this one I checked reviews and thought that some of the lower starred reviewers were being a bit sensitive. They weren't. I can only hope that the next one will redeem the series. Can't say that I'll be holding my breath though.

What did you love best about Plan B?

I love the storyline and how it was approached.

What other book might you compare Plan B to and why?

My Roommate's a Jock, Well Crap! Though the one main character wasn't feminine, the roommate was an athlete who didn't want to risk his reputation by acknowledging his attraction to another man.

What three words best describe Andrew McFerrin’s voice?

I can't think of any at this time.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Any additional comments?

I think Mr. McFerrin was a descent choice for a narrator, but he has a habit of fluctuating his voice up and down at times that made it difficult to listen to. Kind of reminds me of Adam West as Batman. I don't know if this is his first book, but hope that he can remedy this. I feel he has potential.
