Winged demonesses, otherworldly lovers, and a dragon with an enormous sexual appetite collide with spoilt princesses, spell-weavers, and wicked ancestors in Janine Ashbless' fantastic tales of lust and magic. Cruel Enchantment is a stunning collection of unique and breathtakingly beautiful erotic fairy tales.

Loved this book. I like that Janine kept with true 'faerie tale ' tradition and put a wickedly erotic spin on already dark stories. I appreciated the originality and thought the narrator did a great job. Would love to hear more from the author and narrator.

Wild Things... They've been with us forever - prowling the smoky roadhouse dives that are their watering holes and hunting grounds. Predators, lurking amidst the human herd. Changing shape at will. Lusting for blood and meat they are gods in the wild. Gods in disguise. And they feed on the spark inside each of us. Syd was just another lonely working class guy singing the steel-town blues. Then he met Nora. She's sensual, Erotic. Amoral.

What did you love best about Animals?

This is one of the best werewolf stories I've come across. Gory without being gruesome, and I really feIt for the protagonist. I read it quite a few years ago and found out that another book of these authors came out in audiobook format a few months ago. I emailed one of them to find out if this one would be in audio as well and never got a response. I lucked up on it last week and was super excited to get it.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the rural setting, the protagonists' backstory and how he eventually came out on top. The descriptions of the supporting characters and the great music really set the tone.

Would you listen to another book narrated by John Lee?

If he narrated another type of story - yes. In my opinion, he wasn't a good fit for this book. I can tell that he was trying hard to mask an accent and it threw me off a bit. I think Robert Petkoff would have been a great choice.

If you could rename Animals, what would you call it?

Not sure. I think the title is fitting.

    Any additional comments?

Really happy that I could listen to one of my favorite stories. It was written in 1993. That's a long time to wait.

After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

What did you love best about Cold Days?

The newer, bolder more confident Harry Dresden gives the story a great twist.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Cold Days?

The reveal of the newest Winter Lady

What does James Marsters bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His characterizations are top notch. He brings life to everyone he voices. Why this man hasn't won an Audie is beyond me.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Cold Days - Hell has really frozen over!

Keep 'em coming Jim. Kudos to you once again, James. Welcome back!

Where does The Darkling Thrush rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very high. The story was a wonderful surprise and the narrator is outstanding. I don't know where they found him, but I do hope that he gets lots more work.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Septimus. You could tell that he had ambiguous feelings for the hero and when the truth was finally revealed, he morphed into a darkly sensual (not just sexual) man that I wish was present in more m/m novels.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    The train's journey to Scotland.

If you could take any character from The Darkling Thrush out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Septimus. He was quite mysterious and I would have wanted to unravel him.

Max Miller - Bravo and ENCORE!!!

If you could sum up Men of Smithfield: Adam and Holden in three words, what would they be?

    Touching, Funny, Infuriating

What other book might you compare Men of Smithfield: Adam and Holden to and why?

Don't know that I can think of another book that is similar off the top of my head.

What aspect of Shannon Gunn’s performance would you have changed?

His interpretation of Holden is a bit 'Paul Lyndeish' and sometimes annoying. I was wondering if the character was supposed to be voiced that way.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Most of the moments involving Adam's insight. I love how sensitive and open he is. When he declared his love for Holden, I melted.

    Any additional comments?

I hope there are more in this series and I would love to have Shannon narrate again. No more voices like Holden's though.

What did you love best about Where He Ends and I Begin?

Love a sappy feelgood story with a lot of lust thrown in. I appreciated that there was a minimum amount of drama and genuine love between 2 friends,

What did you like best about this story?

I liked that Jake was not worried about anyone's opinion and that he was in your face with the fact that he protects what's his.

What does Sean Crisden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

As much as I love Cardeno, I almost passed up buying the audio version. I'm not really a fan of Mr. Crisden's narration, but I thought I would take a chance and it paid off. I liked his charaterizations and he is much less wooden than I've heard him in other productions.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are so many moving moments, I just can't pick one.

    Any additional comments?

The production value of this audiobook leaves a bit to be desired. The narrative fades in and out in places throughout the story. It can be distracting.

Whether you like it rough and surly, smooth and sultry, or quick and raw, you'll find it in Best Gay Erotica 2008. Here are 20 of the hottest and best-written man-on-man sex stories to appear in print this year. In "Underground Operator", two men on a nearly empty subway platform indulge in forceful, anonymous sex that lets them momentarily forget the stifling summer heat. "Donuts to Demon" finds a self-described "rock'n'roll artfag" searching for a lover - as patient and gifted and generous as he advertised on craigslist.

What made the experience of listening to Best Gay Erotica 2008 the most enjoyable?

Brandon Phillips is a wonderful narrator. His characterizations were fun to listen to.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

As with any anthology, there are hits and misses. Fortunately there were more good stories than bad or mediocre.

What about Brandon Phillips’s performance did you like?

Mr. Phillips is very expressive and seems to have a good command of languages. It felt like I was listening to someone who was talking to me personally and not just reading.

The stories were actually edited by Richard Labonte and not Lea DeLaria and Kathleen Warnock

Lieutenant Robert Sutton has survived the collapse of civilization by luck, his wits, and a chance mutation that makes him immune to the nanovirus that has wiped out millions. Now, his compound of survivors is surrounded by the infected, who are driven by the need to spread the contagion through sex. It is only a matter of time before they attack. Would you try another book from Kim Knox and/or Shannon Gunn?

I will definitely buy another book narrated by Shannon Gunn - this is already my second, but will not be purchasing another story written by Ms. Knox.

What could Kim Knox have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The premise of the book had much potential, but fell flat on many levels. As it is, the book is more of a novella. Not a lot of time to get a message across and what time there was, is wasted.

There was a lot of reiteration on the same issues - was Rider infected?, who was he?, if Annabel is infected I'll kill him, etc.. I found myself wanting to FF just to get to a point. What I found after listening to over 2/3 of the story is that there wasn't much of one. The book was really too short for that. I was looking forward to a steamy listen, but all I got was all talk - very little action. A bit more detail could have been given to flesh out an explanation on the infection that the characters were trying to avoid and the backgroung on the main characters. The physical interaction between Rider & Sutton was also sorely lacking. The constant banter - and there was a lot of it, wore on me very quickly. Very repetative

If the author did a re-write, I'd read it. The subject matter caught my attention but couldn't keep it.

Which character – as performed by Shannon Gunn – was your favorite?

I liked Rider - very cocky and sure of himself. The British accent was fitting. Could have been quite the sexy character if he'd been allowed to play more.

Could you see Bitter Harvest being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

If it was written better - yes. I would love to see Michael Fassbender as Rider. Not sure about Sutton.

Would you consider the audio edition of Men of Smithfield: Mark and Tony to be better than the print version?

Yes. I read this story a couple of years ago when it was entitled "Gobsmacked". It was the first story I read by Mrs. Gregg and I enjoyed it so much, I purchased others. I never could have imagined the characterizations in my head as interpreted by the narrator.

What did you like best about this story?

It was hilarious and I could see myself reacting in many of the same ways as Mark. The bible incident at the church had me guffawing out loud. Good thing I was at home alone and not at work while listening.

Have you listened to any of Shannon Gunn’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was the first book that I actually listened to that Mr. Gunn narrated, but not the first one I purchased. I love his narrative skills. He has a way with accents and he emotes very well. I hope to hear a lot more from him.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Completely Gobsmacked would do it justice. It describes perfectly the emotions Mark felt during the horrific chain of events before his HEA.

Would you consider the audio edition of Clear Water to be better than the print version?

Yes. Robert Nieman is great at conveying the tone and emotion of the books he narrates.

What other book might you compare Clear Water to and why?

Special Delivery by Heidi Cullinen. Both of the young men - Sam and Patrick needed to find themselves. They both had goals to attain but did not know how to go about it. They both wanted love but chose the wrong way to go about getting it. The 'family' in their lives were cold and indifferent. It took total strangers to make them see their worth.
