"Reality or Fantasy, so close it's hard to tell"
It couldn't have had a better name.
I was torn between what was reality and what may be fantasy for the characters. I was happy the story leaves no doubt. I liked how well the story moved along and just enough description to be able visualize their surroundings.
This is a story that I would have liked to see continue but also stopped at a time and in a way to give you hope that it did just that.
I enjoyed the book enough to look up the author, Eowyn Ivey and found this to be her first book. I hope she has more in the future.
"New Keith Richards Fan!!"
Listening about the stories we heard about in the news all those years ago for the actual facts of how they came about. How much resect Keith Richards could have for everyone but himself of course........
Keith Richards, explanation needed???
The voices bring out a feeling of being there with them while replaying that time in their lives. Johnny Depp's voice is pretty darn close to Keiths but Johnny is much easier to understand.
Not possible being over 21 hours
Considering I'm almost 2 decades younger than Keith Richards, I grew up in a area that FM radio did not exist beyond one station until the 70's, my Dad was anti Rock and Roll, I don't play or want to play guitar, I never even had a thing for any of the Rolling Stones this wouldn't have been a book I wouldn't have picked on my own. It was by the reviews and my husband is a guitar player and really enjoyed reading the book himself so I thought to give it a listen and thoroughly enjoyed every hour of it! A sugesstion I read in one review was to listen to the songs as the stories came up about that song was a good one. I didn't realize how many of their songs I did know and love! Now I'm going to suggest to my husband that he listen to it while being able to play his guitar so he can try all the little things out that Keith explains that makes many of the songs unique!
"Smiled through the entire book!"
Narrated by Tina Fey
I listened while driving the car. The many slap your leg funny parts! I also liked when she spoke directly to the listener, knowing we were listening verses reading and had bought, borrowed or stole the audio version.
Just one?? I couldn't, the whole book is enjoyable and entertaining!
Yes, I would have liked to be able to do that.
Just get it, book or audio and enjoy!
"Deserving of the 5 star rating!"
I picked this book because of the 5 star rating and those stars did not fail me. This was my first audio book and I listened while driving across country. I loved it and almost forgot I was driving. The story was very accurate to the time it was written for and the mutable narrators really made the story come to life. I've listened to a couple more books since The Help and nothing else has compared!
