When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The book, definitely. NOT the recording. The voices are laughable and cringe-inducing.

What other book might you compare Fifty Shades of Grey to and why?

None that I can think of.

Would you be willing to try another one of Becca Battoe’s performances?

Absolutely not. Maybe I've been spoiled by the likes of Davina Porter (Outlander series) and Jim Dale (Harry Potter), but Ms. Battoe does not sound like she knows the first thing about narrating a book. Ms. Porter and Mr. Dale create unique voice identities for each character, so that you know who is talking just from the sound of the voice, and they are all believable. Ms. Battoe simply deepens her voice to different degrees, and the characters sound ridiculous.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

OMG yes - I can't wait for the movie to come out.

    Any additional comments?

Please revert back to the first version of the narration, or find someone else do it. Ms. Battoe is just not right for this project.
