Now, picking up from A Discovery of Witches' cliff-hanger ending, Shadow of Night plunges Diana Bishop and Matthew Clairmont into Elizabethan London, a world of spies, subterfuge, and a coterie of Matthew's old friends, the mysterious School of Night that includes Christopher Marlowe and Walter Raleigh. Here, Diana must locate a witch to tutor her in magic, Matthew is forced to confront a past he thought he had put to rest, and the mystery of Ashmole 782 deepens. Deborah Harkness has crafted a gripping journey through a world of alchemy, time travel, and magical discoveries.

I must admit that I too waited longingly for this book. I read discovery over and over waiting for part 2 to come out. I was so excited that audible had it so soon. But I am halfway through part three of the second book and have that feeling, like I did halfway through the last book of the game of thrones series, That it's almost finished and nothing has happened. I mean there is a lot of talking and Fluff but nothing has changed. No new real revelations no major change in momentum, no real controversy or conflict.

Disappointed so far... hope it gets better in the last few few hours.

For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison.

I must say that I was a little unsure about the book when I first decided to read it. In fact the only reason that I picked up this title was because another book reviewer was comparing another book to this one. So I decided to forgo that book for Mistborn.
Now all I can say is wow. Even after all the hours of listening I didn't want the series to end. Now that it's over I'm kind of sad. I highly enjoyed the experience. I hope you do too.

I must say that I did not like this book. All the climaxing going on in this book and the ending was highly anti-climactic. I was listening to the book on the subway and I was embarrassed. LOL but it wasn't sexy just sex and some of the lines the characters said were so corny. And I found myself hoping it would hurry up and get to the point. I don't like writing bad reviews but this was just bad I'm sorry to say.
