Nearly 50 years after being sworn in as president of the United States in the wake of John F. Kennedy’s assassination, Lyndon Baines Johnson remains a largely misunderstood figure. His force of personality, mastery of power and the political process, and boundless appetite for social reform made him one of the towering figures of his time. But he was one of the most protean and paradoxical of presidents as well. Because of his flawed nature and inherent contradictions, some claimed there were as many LBJs as there were people who knew him.

What disappointed you about Indomitable Will?

I had hoped for a deeper insight into LBJ. What I recieved was a biography of quotes from people around the man. In my opinion , the author missed a chance to peel the onion thet is LBJ, and reveal where the Congressional powerhouse for so many years , met his final undoing.

How could the performance have been better?

I dont know, given the format

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    Not really.

From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan (“the devil”) and placed a bounty on his head. Kyle earned legendary status among his fellow SEALs, Marines, and U.S. Army soldiers, whom he protected with deadly accuracy from rooftops and stealth positions.

The story was flat. Made more so by the reader. No real depth. Didn't capture Chris at all.

    no

Craig Johnson has won multiple awards and earned starred reviews from Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, and Kirkus Reviews for his New York Times best-selling Walt Longmire mysteries. Embarking on his eighth adventure in As the Crow Flies, Sheriff Longmire is searching the Cheyenne Reservation for a site to host his daughter’s wedding, when he sees a woman fall to her death. Teaming up with beautiful tribal chief Lolo Long, Walt sets out to investigate the suspicious death.

What disappointed you about As the Crow Flies?

This and the last installment from Craig has been a huge disappointment. The story is so implausible as to be laughable. Not the right state..or close to the right county. And that is sad because Walt and crew are a great group of characters. Even the repeat of Cliff Clive as an FBI agent. Lacking a believable story it is all wasted.

Has As the Crow Flies turned you off from other books in this genre?

    This is the last one.

What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?

George's performance was good, though perhaps not as good as the first four.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from As the Crow Flies?

The whole storyline of Montana . Keep it in Absoroka County and perhaps it could make more sense.

    Any additional comments?

Sad last book. Hope they return with better storys.

Would you ever listen to anything by Craig Johnson again?

Yes I would. But the Longmire series is getting a bit out there. A Sheriff, single handedly chasing 3 Armed murderers in a blizzard, is just too far out there... come on.

What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

A voice to the characters. But george's story telling is starting yo lack what the first few installments had.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment
