The final scene where he was finally able to begin the huge task of processing the horribleness of what had happened to him, and to let the toxicity that was forced on him to escape.
The truth that Kamer Rouge perpetrated on Cambodian people
This is a very important story, it is important to hear and to learn from it. Somehow this kind of craziness must be ended where whole innocent peoples are subject to this type atrocity.
"unexpected ending"
Yes, because it is very interesting how the author develops the characters, and weaves their lives.
The ending. I also enjoyed the way the twins were taken treated, and how they became delightful players in this story.
listening to the expressions and the accents always adds so much to a book and was no exception in this book, I loved it.
Kathy, she had so many facets of her character which were shown in surprising ways.
It was a delightful book and a very good book to listen to and think about.
"Wonderfully presented book"
With the current moral and ethical dilemmas facing us it is very important to explore our own thoughts about them and to have it so wonderfully presented, I would recommend listening to this book very thoughfully with an open mind.
Ana, she had to struggle with issurs that no one at that age should have to deal with and did it very well.
I think the reader has much to do with the emotion that is a thread throughout the book and adds so much to the story.
I got very angry with the mother for being so focused on the designated "sick" daughter that she neglected her other children.
It is an important book in todays world as more issues like this emerge and very well written too. I would recommend the book rather than the movie to get the full impact of what I believe the author to be protraying.
"Delicious"
How the story was developed was as intricate as the maze in the story, and it was wonderful to follow.
to discover at each point how each person's role fit together, truly an intricate puzzle.
For me the final scene was the best when all was known and finally the different pieces came together.
Eliza for sure, she was the most colorful and had the most character.
This book was masterfully written and surprised me continually how the author developed each piece of the story and wove it together into an intricate fabric which was not complete until the final chapter was completed.
