Sue Monk Kidd's ravishing debut novel has stolen the hearts of reviewers and readers alike with its strong, assured voice. Set in South Carolina in 1964, The Secret Life of Bees tells the story of Lily Owens, whose life has been shaped around the blurred memory of the afternoon her mother was killed.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Secret Life of Bees to be better than the print version?

I haven't read it in print but I can't imagine it could be better then Jenna Lamia reading it to me. I did enjoy the audio book better then the movie though.

Who was your favorite character and why?

August because I think she knew just who Lilly was and how much she needed August and her sisters right from the beginning.

Which character – as performed by Jenna Lamia – was your favorite?

    Lilly.

    Any additional comments?

I loved this book. Lilly's perspective gave you such a clear view of the time. I especially love how Lilly didn't see color like the other white people she had in her life before she found August and her sisters.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

If you could sum up The Help in three words, what would they be?

    My favorite listen.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Some of them. All the narrators did a great job I loved every one. They really made you get lost in the story and fall in love with their characters. I will listen to almost anything Jenna Lemia reads so when I got this book I was excited she was in it. She wasn't even my favorite.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Oh yes, I laughed and laughed. I listen at work in the morning before the lunch service starts and I would be cracking up and getting funny looks from everyone. I also had to hold back tears in a few parts like when Aibileen was talking about her son.

    Any additional comments?

I listened to this a few times I loved it so much. I would have loved for this to go on forever. It felt like I knew the characters personally. I wanted to sit at the kitchen table and talk to Aibileen lol.

Mercedes Hildebrand Ware is a member beyond reproach...until her life begins to unravel. When her husband betrays her, steals her money, and runs off to places unknown, it's something Frede would prefer to keep under wraps. The last thing she needs is to become fodder for the JLWC gossip mill. And to make matters worse, there's only one person in town who stands a chance at helping her get revenge - Howard Grout, a tasteless, gold-chain-wearing lawyer who has bought his way into Frede's tony neighborhood.

Would you listen to The Devil in the Junior League again? Why?

Yes I would it was great I love Jenna Lamia. The story was so funny, not what I expected at all.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I can't say I had one I loved the book as a whole.

What about Jenna Lamia’s performance did you like?

Everything I could listen to Jenna read the phone book as long as she used her southern accent.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Not especially.

    Any additional comments?

This book had me laughing out loud I didn't want it to end. I have to admit I only found this book after listening to The Help and searching for more read by Jenna. I am so glad I did because I never would have found it otherwise and I loved this.

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Where does The Hunger Games rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very high read this book in print and I loved it. Listening to it didn't disappoint the narration could seem dull at first but after listening for a bit you realize it's the tone of the story and it couldn't have been done better.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Hunger Games?

At the very beginning when Catness volunteers as tribute for her sister I still get chills thinking about it.

Have you listened to any of Carolyn McCormick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No I haven't.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Of course, when one of the tributes is killed I hate to ruin a story so I'm not giving details.

    Any additional comments?

I love this series I would recommend to anyone, Really my mom, little brother, and my grandfather all loved this book.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Got 40 hours to kill? You’ll find the time when you start listening to Lee’s take on Follett’s epic – and widely celebrated – novel of 12th-century England. The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known...of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect - a man divided in his soul...and of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame....

Joseph says: "Good historical setting, but loose story."

Would you listen to The Pillars of the Earth again? Why?

Yes yes yes. As a matter of fact I have listened to it a few times. John Lee does an amazing job I could listen to him all day and its is an epic story that I loved the first time but after listening again I realized I missed so much.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Pillars of the Earth?

It came at the very end so I can't say without spoiling it.

Which character – as performed by John Lee – was your favorite?

That's tough I loved Aliena and Jack I can't decide who I loved more.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I didn't want to turn it off.

    Any additional comments?

I truly loved this book I didn't hesitate one second after I finished it to buy A World Without End. Which didn't disappoint.
