"not a book, it's a commercial!"
Not one single character developed to relate to. Whats worse is no info either. He makes a hundred references to how "sexy", how "naked the beauty is". Tries to get you to believe it is the "drug of today". It is neither. Nothing helpful like, tips, shortcuts, fixes support, websites, NOTHING! The whole book is about how your playlist can make you cool. Dozons of obscure bands are mentioned.(with no sample sound of course.) Nothing about photos, or t.v. programs, The man does not even talk about the fact it playes videos or movies. One whole chapter wasted on, if the "shuffle is random or not! Yes it is. In his perfection rant, he doesn't wish to talk about the high cost-crashes-cables that break in your hand-no support-$30.00 for a piece of plastic accessory-downloads of inconsistent quality and volumn-you buy it and they think they still own it, dictating exactly what you may or may not do. We can go on. Bottom line, the artist sets the mood, and delivers the emotions, not the i-pod. It's a high teck tape recorder, thats all. The positive item is the author has a great vocabulary and a good writer. In the end no info was exchanged, i learned almost nothing, and it was a waste of time and money.
"The Best."
One of the best books I've ever gotten at Audible. It brings tears of joy to my eyes as I see some people in this world that actually act and do, and spend money to help other animals like ourselves.
The man that owns this reserve is so kind and generous, and spends his life saving animals rather than killing them all.
A beautiful story of the connection that can be made with higher animals if people would try or take the time to watch and listen.
It just does my heart and spirit good to see people like this still exist in a world that does everything it can to stamp out the large mammals.
Just a wonderful fantastic book filled with love, insight and drama. Beautiful listen.
"Disgusting."
Everything about this book is wonderful except the man Steve Jobs himself. I'm not sure I've ever known a more selfish despicable man in my lifetime and grew to dislike him more and more with each chapter.
My favorite man was Woz of course. A really good human being it seems.
Great presentation and great writing to put this book together for a man that deserves much less in my mind.
Who wouldn't have extreme reactions to a man that doesn't bath, and washed his feet in the toilet or shouts obscenities at employee's in front of rooms of people to take all pride away. Who wouldn't have a reaction to lying about so much to so many and even trying to pretend this isn't his child as he branded the mother as trash and a whore and sued her.
Do human beings get lower than this, and all the time pretending it has nothing to do with money as he hoards in all the cash to himself and helps almost no one. Dying with billions in the bank says all you need to know about what a jerk and crummy human being this was and everyone let him get away with his bizarre act because he knew how to make money, and they all hung on to get their piece of the wealth.
A marketing genius and fantastic design engineer and thief by trade still makes this man a rotten human being in my book.
"Just Terrible."
No...not at all.
This is a book on anger that tells us to give the anger to God, and let Jesus take care of things. If we could do that, we'd not have to read the books on self help.More techniques are to tell the person up front whats on your mind, and if they don't respond, take them to the church and expose them and all kinds of things like this that are not relevant in most situations for today. I HAVE NO PROBLEM with people that go to church....those people are not the issue!!!! Almost nothing was of any value here for me, and in fact made things even worse as I became angry I ever bought this foolish book, that would be nice in another world, but not this one we live in.I felt no better after reading this at all.
"Same old broken promise."
Perhaps not unless it got great reviews. The best thing in almost all of these books is the tile and they never deliver unless yhour perhaps willing to change every single thing in your life.
NO not at all. It was a miss mash of things. Yes we know that certain foods help to produce certain chemicals but eating that food doesn't always mean the depression or whatever goes away like the book implies so often. My car runs on gasoline but filling th etgruckl up with it doesn't fix all things that go wrong.
Narrator sounds so mechanical and like a robot as so many of them do. I wonder why you people do it like that? No likes that mono-tone sound.
Yes, I picked up some facts and figures I didn't know but NOTHING that will change my life and I already do everything I can to keep learning so the book didn't help in that regard either.
Always false promises to get you to buy it and very little substance.
Just like most all these self help books...Here's the whole book okay...
Eat right...get plenty of rest and relax. They all say the same thing and if it worked so well no one would need to read these books but the real truth is those things only help a bit and DO NOT FIX THINGS LIKE THEY IMPLY.
"poor!"
here's the book, be yourself, and make friends. not one thing even close to a revelation of any type, and nothing we all dont know or have heard on talk shows a hundred times. this book is a total waste of time and money.
"try to forget it."
this is simply a terrible book. here it is in a nutshell. pay attention when your trying to remember something, and carry a notebook to write things down, thats it. no science of how anything works, no research. i could write this book by simply reading articles off the internet. i wish i could forget this worthless dribble.
"really surprised"
i had to talk myself into this one. i was afraid of a dull book of all chess annotation and not much on the human side. i was so wrong. this book actually helps make you a better player while at the same time providing great entertainment. perhaps the best chess book i have read. well written and all the antidotes make for great reading. a terrific book.
"good read"
this book is a fine way to pass some time. it is both entertaining and informative. the author creates every opportunity to point out how smart he is and how others are not, but it works because ther are other things to balance it all out. steve jobs is the cheating no class man we thought he was. i was surprised to find that "WOZ" is a man with a great heart and a teriffic human being. not what i had guessed prior to the read. good book, left me feeling upbeat and wishing more people were like him.
"One of the BEST!"
I listened to this book, and then happened to see the reviews. I cannot believe anyone didn't enjoy it, then i find many hated it. I learn every day, and am disapointed an equal number of times by my species. Hardened, no heart, jaded ,thats what people have become to attach this book so vigorously. This is simpley a story of hope. That our lives affect others and we dont always know why people hurt us at the time, and most of all that that we live on, in a better place with far greater incites into how to be a better human being- even now, while were here, alive. God forbid any of that would rub off on this planet.
