I've enjoyed all of Seanan McGuire/Mira Grant's other books but this is rapidly shaping up to be my favourite!

Tie between Sarah Zellaby and Verity Price ( although I'd be really interested in her grenade toting grandmother as well).

For a lot of Characters the young bright and perky thing wouldn't work but for Verity it's perfect!

Yes, I had to tear myself away from it.

The cover and the short synopsis made me a little wary of this book but it's gone way past my expectations, it's just ridiculously fun!

Basically I'm at the point where Seanan McGuire is an anxiously awaited autobuy ( on the same level as Patricia Briggs or Ilona Andrews).

I'm a sucker for stories about female programmers (what with being one) so I did like some of the descriptions of the programming process but in general there are massive moral implications to part of the book that nobody in it really seemed to realise (the main character seemed to recognise it on an individual level but didn't seem to realise the absolutely horrific implications for the general population).

I'm trying to keep things vague to avoid spoilers, but one particular plot point in this book was profoundly Not OK and someone as internet aware as the protagonist should have picked up on it straight away.

This was just fun to listen to, it occasionally lost its way but for the most part it was just enjoyable.
As a disclaimer I have a things for female characters who are what TVTropes refers to as Determinators, women who will keep going towards their goal no matter what. Wren definitely qualifies which makes this book an automatic like for me.

This is exactly what I expect from a Seanan Macguire book. Fun, thoughtful, funny and filled with well written action sequences.

The only thing I regret is that there's not more of it but then I pretty much expected that too.

If you like Ilona Andrews or Patricia Briggs you're going to love this.

Definitely, the author has a gift for snappy dialog which is always going to play well on an audiobook

The team dynamics were interesting and well thought out and again some truly killer dialog

This series is the first I've listened to but I thought she did a credible job

This is not a perfect story by any means but it is thoroughly enjoyable which for an audiobook counts a lot more. Worth a listen
