"Who Knew!"
I'm not a fantasy person and this book took me awhile to get into it. No, it is not real, but the story is captivating. The little foundling raised in an orphanage (It's my term, not theirs). What an adventure. I was very captivated and got the next 2 books. OK, I'm in love with the narrator, Humphrey Bower. He can make eating crackers sound exciting. You will not be disappointed.
"Dumb and Dumber"
Look, if you want a great story with characters that you grow attached to and a story line that goes past one book and has some meat on it, don't get this book. If you want a sci-fi and a series that you can't put down, get the "Outlander" series by Diana Gabaldon. Beyond the Highland Mist is a wannabee copycat, but doesn't make the grade. Save your cash. Move on!
"Was Pleasantly Surprised"
I received this book as a surprise sale so I was skeptical. Regardless, it has a lesson about second chances. It was a good listen.
"All around Good Listen"
The series was a good listen. Secrets is the first of the book series followed by Unforgotten then Echoes. I found parts of the book and series to be very slow but it came together in the end. I thought the characters of Rese and Lance to be a bit boring at times, but the knight in shining armour always comes through. Put your headphones on and clean your house. The time will pass.
"Who would have guessed!"
No one really wins in this story. Having said that, there is some closure at the end of the book and hope for the future.
"Good Listen"
Story was a bit slow for me, however, it picked up towards the end. If you like Vietnam war stories, you won't be disappointed. Scott Brick is a little weak on the female voice.
"I am a Pretzel!"
I am now a "pretzel". There are so many twists and turns in this novel. Listen! Listen! to the first part of the story. Everything will make sense at the end. Speaking of the end, I was wanting more. Perhaps there will be a sequel.
"Very Surprising"
What a compassionate story in so many ways. Character, love and understanding is key in this novel. Great Listen.
"Just OK"
Put your headphones on while you do your housework. It will keep you in the zone.
"Don't Bother Wasting your Money"
I'm only on the second part and I'm so disappointed. Whomever gave it a 4-5 star should be scolded and given a literature lesson. Please, give me my money back. Once you've listened to Humphrey Bower, you want no other. Look for him under narrators.
