The Negotiator is probably one of the better books in the series. It's full of action and suspense, and that's what I loved best about this book.
Lately, I've been listening to a lot of suspense novels. Two recent novels come to mind, Indefensible by Pamela Callow and A Case of Redemption by Adam Mitzer. Both full of action and suspense, without the religious theme.
The opening bank hostage scene was my favorite. One thing I can say about Dee Henderson, her opening scenes are always good. The novels may drag in the middle, but the beginning and endings are always good.
Kate O'Malley was hilarious. I found myself laughing at this character often.
Intense, Sad and Serious
This book reminds me of Full Disclosure by Dee Henderson. Yes, I'm fully aware that I can expect similarities, but the main characters in these novels were so close. Both suffer from nightmares, both are afraid to get married and have children. This makes me hesitant to listen to the O'Malley's series. I going to listen to book 1, if it's more of the same that will be the last of this series for me.
The narrator had a great voice. Overall, his performance was good, however he didn't do Sara the main character any justice. Tom didn't transition into the female characters very well, but he tried and you could hear the difference when Sara was speaking.
This novel was good, however it was a bit SAD. It didn't make me laugh or cry. I just found myself saying "WOW" often.
I ordered this book based on the novel Full Disclosure. The author advertised her other books in Full Disclosure. Full Disclosure painted a different story of Sara and Adam. So, I was expecting the story of Sara and Adam described in Full Disclosure. Danger in the Shadows was good, but not the story I expected.
I doubt it very seriously if I will try another book by Christina Lauren or Grace Grant. The book will have to come highly recommended and the reviews outstanding before I try another one. I purchased this back in July and I still have 1 hour left. OMG, just plain awful. Hope, it's not too late to return.
The most disappointing was the excessive use of the word cock. Please understand, I do enjoy a good erotic romance novel, however I think the authors could have been a little more creative in describing the male organ.
Becca Batoe or David de Vries would have been great narrators for this book. The novel was written in two voices. It was very difficult to understand when the male was telling the story or female. The narrator did not change voices.
One, just one redeeming quality. I understand this was fan fiction of Fifty Shades of Grey. I can say it was better than most fan fiction I've read. The authors didn't copy, they wrote their own story.
I would like the to listen to the full audio edition. The free download was one story with a running time of 2 hours.
It was a clean cut romance. Most short stories fall short, but this one had a clear beginning, middle and end. Great character development. I don't feel like I was cheated because it was a short story.
Savannah was a great narrator. Very good voice.
Yes, I download a sample of the book before purchasing the audio version. And the audio version was EXCELLENT.
I enjoy every aspect of this story. I haven't been this enthused about a book in a long time. I don't have any complaints. The best part was the ENDING. I didn't see it turning out that way. I don't want to spoil it, but I was on to this one character early on. But the author made you love her, so it was hard to believe her betrayal in the END. OMG what a novel.
Kevin was awesome. A great narrator. His best characters were the Judge and a weeping Nina.
Yes, I literally GASPED when the Judge announced LD had died in prison. I wanted to cry. I was also moved when Dave let his love go...It took a strong man to do so... the power of the Poonanny.
I would highly recommend this book to all. There is something in this book for all readers. If you like legal suspense...THIS IS FOR YOU.
Yes, I would purchase another book from both Sherryl Woods and Elenna Stauffer
The story was very predictable, I pretty much knew what was going to happen next. The most interesting surprise was discovering Peter arrange the meeting between Lara and Dave.
Lara was my favorite
If the story and characters were more developed, I could see a very good novella.
Twist and Turns!!!
First, I must give props to Davis Devries. His performance was awesome and made a good story even better. There were so many twist, turns and excitement in this story I was on the edge of my seat. Full Disclosure was well written. Every scene connected perfectly. That's what I enjoyed most. It all came together in the end. Spoiler: I knew the VP was shady early on. He was a smooth character and listening to his take down was AWESOME!!
I believe this novel is tagged as a romance. I got a murder mystery, suspense, thriller and romance all wrapped up into one. A clean cut Christian Romance. Not what I expected, and well worth the purchase.
I knew the VP was shady. Since he and Ann were so close, I started to doubt her as well. The scene were Ann reveled what happen in the cabin, was ONE of my favorites.
OMG, the opening scene was good as well. It was so well written, and set the movements of the book in place. AWESOME.
I LOL often. Scenes with Black/Midnight the dog were hilarious.
I would recommend this book to romance readers. It falls in the traditional romance category, with a few well written erotic scenes. Some romance readers don't like the "DIRT" this audiobook was classy.
When the stalker was finally revealed. I suspected this individual early on in the book.
Overall decent job.In the first few chapters it was annoying when Gia pronounced Barret and Barnet. It drove me crazy. Other than that, Gia did a great job and I would listen to other audiobooks narrated by Gia.
No, this was not an audiobook that made me drop everything and listen in one sitting. It was a good book, not an AWESOME book. GOOD!!!
I don't plan to listen to my audiobooks in one sitting. If it's an exceptional book, I will listen in one sitting. If it's less than 6 hours, I listen in one day. I normally enjoy my audiobooks during working hours. So, I can get a good 4 to 6 six hours a day.
I've don't have the print version of Focus. This was my first audio/book by Leo Babauta. I'm willing to purchase other books by this author.
I've always said twitter and facebook was a huge was of time, but really needed for authors and people trying to grow their business. Leo offers solutions to the social media distraction. I also enjoyed the fact that Babauta offered solutions. Some books in this genre send too much time discussing the issue, but offer little solutions.
One pointer I've started using: Make a daily to do list, pick three IMPORTANT task and focus on those task first and early in the day when I have the most energy.
I would listen to Tattooed again. Actually, I plan to listen again. I was multi-tasking, (LOL) and missed some key information in the first two hours. As a result, I was a little confused.
I've come to love the characters from the other novels. Therefore, I'm concerned for them and they drove the novel and kept me on the edge of my seat.
She did an outstanding job. Eva has the perfect narrator voice.
The ending. I was shocked Kate didn't recognize the setup. And, I couldn't believe Kenzie got away with murder, TWICE!!!
