"Just loved it. Family love won out!"
Yes. It is always great to hear how family and marriage has survived over time and hardships and that they still stick together and are always there for each other. The camaraderie between the brothers and their families is great but the sense of humour keeps the story delightful and easy to listen to. A great all rounder!
Seth. He has just turned into a great person despite a bad start in life.
Not sure.
Yes, I laughed and on occasion felt some sadness.
Loved it!
"What a twist at the end!"
I would love to listen to this story again. The characters are very interesting and its a bit like Agatha Christie where just about everyone hated the victim and could have done it. However, Eve, with Rourke's help, digs deep and sifts through until she gets it.
I loved how Eve actually had empathy for her murderer. Of course her ignorance of theatre was pretty cute too.
Yes I have listened to many of them. I love them all so it's hard to compare. Susan does a great job!
I certainly laugh at times as the witty remarks, especially between Eve and Roarke and Eve and Peabody are just delightful. There were sad moments but not quite to the point of crying.
I thoroughly enjoy this series. The way each character has their own special bits e.g Feeney's nuts and of course Eve's pretense at being really hard when she's really quite soft is lovely. The relationship between Eve and Roarke is so special and I do not get bored with them, ever!
"Tough life turned around."
I would rather have read this one. I did not enjoy the way it was performed.
It took very long but I suppose in the end justice was served.
I'm not sure but Dick Hill did a terrible job. He cannot read a woman's voice without making her sound weak and stupid. That was not appropriate in this book. It was really annoying.
Not sure.
"Excellent allround good story."
Yes, I loved the different voices and feelings portrayed.
A good woman persists living her life to the best of her ability and finds happiness.
She does the different voices really well. I always knew which person was speaking as she does each one with their own special sound and nuance. She is an awesome reader!! In fact, she is my favourite!
Yes and I listen to it again and again.
I just love the story as well as the performance.
"Not quite as good as other Julia Quinn books."
Olivia's character was sweet and witty. Harry's family background was very dark and grim and it did not seem to really have any bearing on the story.
The book within the book seemed a bit silly and was given too much emphasis.
The reading was great and well performed.
Mostly.
It was very long winded. The essence of the story was good though.
