I like mysteries, suspense and thrillers. Occasionally I will listen to some scifi or fantasy.

Deeper Than the Dead introduced Tami Hoag's millions of fans to Oak Knoll, a small California town that, in the mid-eighties, seemed as idyllic as any . . . until the See-No-Evil killer shattered that notion. It took FBI agent Vince Leone and a new technique called profiling" to put an end to the trauma. Now Hoag returns once more to Oak Knoll for the third installment of this best-selling series.

Melissa says: "All the way around excellent listen!!"

What made the experience of listening to Down the Darkest Road the most enjoyable?

    The authors writing style.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Down the Darkest Road?

    There are lots of them.

What about Kirsten Potter’s performance did you like?

I thought she did great! Laurens voice reflected exactly how I pictured her character being.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I only listen while commuting.

    Any additional comments?

I read several of the reviews before I bought this book. I have to say that I disagree that people were disappointed that it wasn't as good as the others in the Oak Knoll series. I found the book to be just as intense as the others and the characters and plots certainly had a few twists. I thought it brought out well how justice isn't always what we would like it to be.

At midnight, in a secret medical clinic in Washington, D.C., two foreign doctors and their team are completing plastic surgery on an anonymous client who is changing the appearance of his face, among other things. After the procedure, the client begins to stir - and suddenly the operating room erupts in violence, and the clinic is ablaze.

This plot was so intense I didn't want to quit listening! Enjoyed every minute of it. Of course Dick Hill was fabulous as always. I don't normally go for the whole government conspiracy/spy type novels but I have to say that this book left me wanting more!

As a therapist specializing in sexual issues, psychiatrist Dr. Morgan Snow isn't easily shocked, or shaken, as readers of the popular "Butterfield Institute" novels know. There are times, however, when the need for her services leads her out of the office... and into unfamiliar worlds. In these stories, the therapist matches her wits -and her training - against three men of mystery: Jack Reacher, John Rain, and Cotton Malone.

Rose says: "Thank you for the free story, however........"

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I didn't like the whole erotica theme.

What could M. J. Rose have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not really sure, I am glad I didn't pay for the book though.

How could the performance have been better?

I didn't like the switch between voices, individually they were okay but, the dialogue just didn't grip me.

What character would you cut from In Session: Dr. Morgan Snow with Steve Berry's Cotton Malone, Lee Child's Jack Reacher & Barry Eisler's John Rain?

    Cotton Malone

Kat Richardson excels at creating vivid, fast-moving novels that blend urban fantasy with paranormal mystery. In Greywalker, Seattle P.I. Harper Blaine is viciously attacked and murdered - but after exactly two minutes, somehow she returns to life. Now she's seeing strange things all around her - dark visions from the shadow world - and living a normal life may no longer be possible no matter how hard she tries.

Nathan says: "A fun take on the paranormal ..."

Would you listen to Greywalker again? Why?

No, I don't relisten often, there are just too many good stories out there.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Harper Blaine, I liked her style, she was tough and practical but still afraid.

Did Mia Barron do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

The characters were differentiated well, I just didn't really like most of the voices. Cam sounded like Scooby Doo and some of the vampires were just annoying.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Why we think it’s a great listen: How do you one-up a book that’s already a global literary phenomenon? Hire Simon Vance to (flawlessly) interpret the loves, lives, and murders of Sweden’s cold and secret-filled world. A spellbinding amalgam of murder mystery, family saga, love story, and financial intrigue. It's about the disappearance 40 years ago of Harriet Vanger, a young scion of one of the wealthiest families in Sweden.

On the tenement rooftop above is the corpse belonging to that hand, a red-haired woman dressed all in black, the body nearly decapitated. Two strands of silver hair — not human — cling to her body. They are Rizzoli’s only clues, but they’re enough for her and medical examiner Maura Isles to make a startling discovery: This violent death had a chilling prequel.
