This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

No one - the story was ok if it would have been a short story in a magazine instead of a 3 disc book. Very boring.

What aspect of Tom Stechschulte’s performance would you have changed?

    Not have written it.

What character would you cut from Carnal Innocence?

Characters were actually good there wasn't enough story.

What disappointed you about A Serpent's Tooth?

I love the Walt Longmire series but they are mostly read by a man who sounds old and tired. Walt Longmire is laid back not on his last legs! The reader puts you to sleep! Please get someone with more energy who can still convey the Walt Longmire character.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I always like James Patterson. Easy reads and entertaining. This series is my least favorite so far. I do love the Alex Cross and Michael Bennett series.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

    Good

Have you listened to any of Scott Shepherd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    Not sure

The time is the mid-1880s when Florida, south of St. Augustine, is a virtual wilderness and Daytona, Miami, and Tampa are little more than dots on the maritime charts. Addie is a "beanery queen" who ekes out a living from her canteen at the convergence of two primitive railroads. She is popular with the train crews but is disdained by most of the townspeople because she lives, unmarried, with a war veteran whose mental disorder is considered to be of demonic origin.

This entertaining story with bits of old Florida history was wonderful. I would like to find more like it.
