This book held my wifes and my interest on a driving trip. The stories are engrossing and you really wonder at the end are they true? Very enjoyable and well narrated.
Too many names for an audiobook. It gets confusing about who is being discussed and interest is lost.
The story is good but the ending is a let down.
The part taking place in the modern day is great and hilarious. The part taking place in the past is boring and ridiculous.
The book is well done. It may be better to read it than to listen. Frequently, you are unsure who is speaking.
I could not get interested in the characters or the story.
Not very engrossing. It seemed predictable. No hidden mystery.
Characters not engaging. Far-fetched story. No college today would allow this to occur.
I found this book interesting, but hard to follow. It might be easier to follow in written format. It kept introducing characters until the very end. I see it won a National Book Award, but I did not find this a terrific book.
Very well done, but more detail than you really need to know. It gives a good history of politics and education in the twentieth century.
Interesting story and you learn a lot about Africa, but the storyline is often hard to follow
