"Loved it!"
I have been an audible member for several years and have "read" many, many great books. I cannot get into the car and drive, even a short distance, without a book. This book is right up there on my list of favorites. Great story, great narration. Many hours of enjoyable driving!
"Based on an unbelievable true story..."
In rates in the top 30 of the audible books I've listened to - which is over 300.
I liked the main character and her strengths. Not enough space to go into detail.
Favorite scene was when she, at 15 years of age, rode horse for several days, alone, to reach her destination.

"Wonderful, twisting, story."
Who ever heard of eugenics??? I never did - not in Vermont! This was a good story - a love story, a ghost story, suspence and mystery, and you learn something to boot! George Guidell -if you read this.... you are my all time favorite reader. You have such a warm, compassionate, easy-to-listen-to voice. I have listened to you so many times, that I feel we know each other. You ride with me in the car all the time. Don't worry though - I'm a good driver :-) Great Book. Great Narration.
"Good story - easy listen"
This book held my interest.... nice mix of mystery and suspence. Nice mix of both main characters. Easy and relaxing listen when driving.
"Did not finish listening"
Too boring... could not hold my interest. I tried to get through it, but eventually gave up.
"good ending to the trilogy"
I have "read" both previous books and enjoyed them very much. This book was a bit more wordy -my husband always tells me "get to the point!!" when I tell him something - I found myself occasionally talking to this recording and telling it to "get to the point" - lots of background information - I found my mind wandering... But the story is great and Mr. Larsson tied it all together at the end, which I liked.
"Not like the movie"
I'm not finished this book yet. I have to keep turning it off - there's too much cursing. The story takes a while to get off the ground, but now - about 4 hours into it - it seems to be picking up. But if I had known there was so much cursing, I would not have bought this book.
"Good Read"
I have tried to listen to as many audible classics as I can find and enjoy them immensely. This story was no different. The setting was easy to visualize, the story moved along at a nice pace, the narrator was pleasant to listen to. As compared to other classics, this book was a little bit of an easier listen. You will not be disappointed.... If you enjoy classics - try Uncle Tom's Cabin, A Tale of Two Cities, Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, Crime and Punishment....there are so many wonderful stories
"Slow moving"
The story moved along at a plodding pace. The reader paused his reading at the weirdest places. The Swedish accent???? There was none. The story was a good one - but the above issues made it difficult to get through....
"Narrator must have an important appointment!"
I am only half way through this book - I find the story to be interesting and it has gotten my attention, so I will continue to listen to it. However, the narrator reads so quickly - it's as if she's trying to read a 16 hour book in 4 hours! She reads each person in the same voice, and without giving any personality to the characters. This book would be much more enjoyable if it were read better, or if I read it for myself. Story - great. Narration - poor.
