She's young. She's beautiful. And her corpse, laid out in the office of Boston medical examiner Cat Novak, betrays no secrets - except for a notebook clutched in one stiff hand, seven numbers scrawled inside. When a second victim is discovered, Cat begins to fear that a serial killer is stalking the city streets: a shadowy madman without mercy or apparent motive. The police are sceptical. The mayor won't listen. And Cat's chief suspect is one of the city's most prominent citizens.

What would have made Girl Missing better?

A better story. Thought it was new but not up to Gerritsen current standards.

With her newest Alexandra Cooper novel, Terminal City, New York Times best-selling author Linda Fairstein delivers another breakneck thriller that captures the essence of New York City - its glamour, its possibilities, and its endless capacity for darkness. Linda Fairstein is well-known for illuminating the dark histories in many of New York's forgotten corners - and sometimes in the city's most popular landmarks. In Terminal City, Fairstein turns her attention to one of New York's most iconic structures - Grand Central Terminal.

Would you try another book from Linda Fairstein and/or Barbara Rosenblat?

    Sure

    Any additional comments?

I found the scene where Mercer and Mike are belittling the fact that Alex was physically attacked a little disturbing. Alex is becoming over the top ridiculous and whiny and Mike is really a horrible person. I used to like them both and now I jus don't want to read about them any more. The romance is like a 16 year old wrote it. No depth at all.

Would you try another book from Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child and/or Rene Auberjonois?

    Yes.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

    I could see it coming.

What does Rene Auberjonois bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Does a great job with the voices and pace of narration.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    No.

    Any additional comments?

I love the earlier Pendergast novels where they are at the history museum chasing monsters. Pendergast's family just doesn't interest me as much, and quite frankly, I found the monster story lines more believable.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I liked the book. I would recommend the series.

What didn’t you like about Dick Hill’s performance?

Dick does the Jack Reacher books, and his pace and tone were exactly the same as the Reacher books. It bothered me the whole book. I never got into it because of that. Also, he doesn't sound remotely like what I think John Rain would sound like. The narrator of the first book was closer.

Always great suspense but the story this time didn't grip me as much.

What if a reality TV show like Jersey Shore set up production in the fictional seaside resort Sea Haven? What if hitting the gym, tanning, and doing a little laundry aren't the only things the contestants get into? By-the-book officer John Ceepak and his wisecracking young partner, Danny Boyle, have to babysit the buff and boozy kids partying it up in a Jersey shore rental house for TV’s summertime hit Fun House while simultaneously trying to stop the rowdy kids from breaking the law up and down the beach. But even Ceepak and Danny can’t stop one young cast member from being murdered—and others from being threatened with the same fate.

Funny! The mystery is great. John Woodman is the best narrator. It listened to the whole series in just a few weeks.

From David Baldacci - the modern master of the thriller and number-one worldwide best-selling novelist - comes a new hero: a lone Army Special Agent taking on the toughest crimes facing the nation. John Puller is a combat veteran and the best military investigator in the U.S. Army's Criminal Investigative Division. His father was an Army fighting legend, and his brother is serving a life sentence for treason in a federal military prison. Puller has an indomitable spirit and an unstoppable drive to find the truth.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Please get rid of the sound effects and hokey music.

What could David Baldacci have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The plot was ridiculous and the main character was clearly a rip off of Jack Reacher. I hope Lee Child got some money from this book.

What didn’t you like about Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy ’s performance?

The readers were too much like Sean and Michelle from Baldacci's other novels. They should have chosen other performers.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    No, not really.
