The second in the Lomax/Biggs detective series by Karp. I really enjoy all of these and the performance is excellent. I listen to them while running on my long distance days - they make the miles pass so much easier!
I'm sure the concepts are great, but between the speaker's unengaging voice and the dryness with which content was presented, I couldn't stay awake. Tried twice. Turned it off. Preferred silence...
There is nothing I can say about Lt Col Grossman that hasn't been said - he is amazing, knowledgeable, and insightful. He gets the Warrior mind like few ever have or will. He is a mentor and a hero. This book, as with his others, is enlightening and helpful in understanding the effects of killing on the human psyche. Everyone who wears a badge, a flag patch on their shoulder, or is married to someone who does, should read this book. I cannot recommend it enough and will probably listen again (which I NEVER do).
My hubby and I listened to this on a few short road trips. Very enjoyable. Book is very interesting and pertinent to our times. Definitely very thought-provoking. One problem - the volume fluctuates pretty badly - very loud sometimes then very soft - had to keep adjusting volume in the car, which gets a bit annoying after a while.
Enjoyable short story. Nothing earth shattering, but an interesting spin on an old problem. Enjoyable listen.
Gavin de Becker presents important information in a way that is absolutely captivating. I highly encourage everyone to read it - women especially, but everyone can use this. It really helped me to consider how much I do or do not listen to my gut instincts and helps to understand exactly what gut instincts are. I have listened to this audiobook repetitively and encouraged many people in my life to do the same. Worth every dime and more.
