This novel allows the unscrupulous and proud Queen of the Nile to recount her own tale. A masterful recreation of history.

Michael A. Vasquez says: "I felt like I was there"
"Wonderful account of a great person from history"
    Overall

I have read all of Margaret George's books and lately have been revisiting them through audio.com and this story is even more thrilling than the read.

The Psychopath Test is a fascinating journey through the minds of madness. Jon Ronson's exploration of a potential hoax being played on the world's top neurologists takes him, unexpectedly, into the heart of the madness industry. An influential psychologist who is convinced that many important CEOs and politicians are, in fact, psychopaths teaches Ronson how to spot these high-flying individuals by looking out for little telltale verbal and nonverbal clues.

    Robert says: "Interesting but wandering"
    "Revealing and insightful."

Would you listen to The Psychopath Test again? Why?

    Yes, refresh the details.

What did you like best about this story?

    Thorough coverage of the topic.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Explanation & description of the physical attributes in psychopath's brain and how they respond to differently to stimuli.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I don't think this would be the kind of book to be made into a film unless it is a documentary.

    Any additional comments?

Now I know for sure my instincts were right about psychopaths, they really are hard-wired differently than non-psychopaths (ie. normal people). Its not a chemical inbalance that can be remedied like most other forms of mental illness with medication or diet. Good book to learn about the condition and how society tries to cope.

In 1956, toward the end of Reverend John Ames's life, he begins a letter to his young son, an account of himself and his forebears. Ames is the son of an Iowan preacher and the grandson of a minister who, as a young man in Maine, saw a vision of Christ bound in chains and came west to Kansas to fight for abolition: He "preached men into the Civil War", then, at age 50, became a chaplain in the Union Army, losing his right eye in battle.

Jim says: "The wonder of retrospect"
    "Prize winner bombs"
    Overall

I selected this book because it was the nat'l book award winner. I found the book well written but the story line is not compelling. The premise is a long, rambling narrative written by an older man to his very young child to read with the child is grown. Its just okay, not great.
