Yes! A very pleasing story to the soul.
I'm torn between the two lead characters. Bea was so level headed and calm throughout, that it is was easy to step into her shoes and understand, and feel the emotions in every decision she made. Then there was Taris, to whom made an every day life seem so simple to those around him, yet you also felt the anguish in his every decision to help him get to the next step in life. Two very powerful characters living such afflicted lives - wonderful to follow!
The narrator was wonderful. Very pleasing to follow each transition and I felt enveloped within the saga in the first five minutes. With listening to over 300 audiobooks over the last two years....that's a HUGE thing!
I did! It was very powerful to me to have the step by step action flow within the story. I could feel the anguish, the happiness, the pain, the sorrow, and most of all, the passion without needing such explicit details that some stories feel necessary to paint their pictures. With this, the painting was made with delicate strokes, embellished to bring the emotions to the forefront of the moment and then receeding back to a broad, all-embracing structure built out to simply carry the charaters on to the next. Fun ride!
I highly recommend this story if you love historical romance. This is a very passionate story without the smut, but filled with all the necessary butterflies and warmth as needed to make a girl smile!
Pretty intense, tragic lives and a hard road to peace. A little odd that the pieces didn't fall together sooner for the characters because it was pretty obvious in parts...but hey, I enjoyed it.
Goodness...I hate to compare, but it was really hard not to invision the tragic dance with death that Bella did in the ...umm....famous vampire series that I shall not admit to listening/reading...tee hee. But It was really similar, a persons heart was broken, moving through life as a zombie....just going through the motions and WHAM....the past comes up and forces its way into the reality you've been trying to ignore. Although I find her bitchy stubborn side annoying and frustrating at times.....its all worth it!
This one was really hard due to the additional turmoil the future holds. There's a bit of detachment that was weird, but SOOOOO many ups and down with kinks in a perfect plan that will definately keep you listening. Although..... the ending....oooohhhhh the ending......where's the third - NOW!
This was just the begining of a rollercoaster ride of emotions! Powerful topics in this series and it was a crazy trip. I wanted to strangle some people for being so cruel, some stupid decisions made me cringe, but some wonderful moments of bliss kept me listening. Loved it! Now on to the next!
The passion was off the charts!
This one kept me listening non stop! It was a roller coaster of emotions.....nervous butterflies....crushing heatache, lustfilled antisipation and PASSION PASSION PASSION!!! Loved it!
Yes please, may I have another!!!
I loved this series and I loved Marco HOWEVER...I had a hard time with this one. I won't go into great details but Hanna was painted in my mind a particular way from the first three books, and I understand things that happen in life can and will change a person....however, sadly knowing exactly what she went through....I truly feel that a persons true being behind the hurt will still be there and shine through. Evven being guarded, and keeping to yourself, your entire being wont be witchy 24/7. Now, there were moments in the classroom that felt right, but anywhere else was hard to grasp. I really could not find the Hanna before anywhere. Even Joss, or Joe who had troubled pasts, had moment of kindness or had moment of clarity and the voice in their head to correct their bitchyness.....but not Hanna, well a few times that she would say it was unreasonable but was quick to say what ever, I'm bithcy anyways...it was weird......She stayed in a funk, was outwordly unkind, and extremly selfish with no remorse which I found very hard to grasp. I really wanted to hear Hanna & Marco's story but I think Samantha Young might have been in a rut or something. She kept repeating her selfish thoughts, just rewording it over and over...Hanna was simply witchy and unrealistic to the point I was really cursing her selfishness. Now, don't get me wrong I WILL CONTINUE TO THE NEXT BOOK ABSOLUTELY....but I really hope the characters dont continually "think" the same thing over and over and over and repeatedly react before asking for an explanation. I understand a few times to build angst, but geesh....things happened over and over and the reactions to them without clarification was causing me to turn it off for a bit simply out of irritation with the obvious. My biggest issue was the fact that at no point did anyone say "you never told"...that person.....and you continually are punishing them! Argh!I still love the series and the all the men! They do stupid things and the women are pretty idiotic at times but - thats all in a great series to keep you listening! Now on o the next!!!!
Although this one didn't have as much action from bad guys as the others-it was by no means a downer in the series! Great chapter for a character that was possibly frowned upon in the last book - a simply must to continue!
Great listen! Had just enough mystery to a murder that was witnessed...sort of....
What exactly did Cameron see and not see, does the killer know, can the FBI protect her while they search? But of all the questions.....why oh why did the FBI have to assign Jack to this case...of all cases...why does the man who told the world I had my head up my *bleep* have to be the one to keep my safety, and truly...will he even try?
It's the world around us that helps to build the bridges over our past and simply lead us to a better future - Jay Crownover just keeps on building a bigger and better bridge throughout every chapter! I simply can't wait for the next book! Awesome story for Nash-love him! Keep them coming!
Jay Crownover has done a fabulous job building a complete, all-around world for us to live with these "marked"cuties! You can feel the heartache, power, angst, need & passion that their pasts have molded them with, and made them into the men they are now - and it's done sooooo well! Although these boys are "bad-boys" I have to applaud you Jay Crownover for not feeling the need to make the characters have such foul mouths, ones where they have to curse every ten minutes just because or make any of the hot love parts raunchy and just crass. You didn't do that because you didn't have to and Yay! So Thank You!!! Can't wait fo the rest of the series!!!
