New York Times best-selling author Carl Weber and award-winning novelist Eric Pete team up to deliver the first in a much-anticipated new trilogy. The Family Business features two times the heat, two times the fun, and two times the drama as the members of an unforgettable family (not to mention their lovers and hangers-on) find their way in and out of trouble. As their many fans will attest, Weber and Pete share a talent for penning juicy fiction that their audience can’t get enough of.

Good idea, but didn't work. Situation is interesting, but the characters are wooden, and the plot drags. Quit half way through.

  • Einstein: His Life and Universe

Why we think it’s a great listen: You thought he was a stodgy scientist with funny hair, but Isaacson and Hermann reveal an eloquent, intense, and selfless human being who not only shaped science with his theories, but politics and world events in the 20th century as well. Based on the newly released personal letters of Albert Einstein, Walter Isaacson explores how an imaginative, impertinent patent clerk became the mind reader of the creator of the cosmos.

This is a wonderfully written and well told biography of one of history's greatest scientists and a fascinating man. But if I were doing it again, I'd read instead of listen, because I'd skip the physics and concentrate on the biography. Hard to skip half chapters in an audiobook.

Larry McMurtry's American epic, set in the late 19th century, tells the story of a cattle drive from Texas to Montana, a drive that represents not only a daring foolhardy adventure, but a part of the American Dream for everyone involved.

Hard to imagine, but after 36 hours of listening, (by far the longest book I've ever heard), I'm sorry it's over. Wonderful characters, fascinating story, great insight into the late 19th century West, and a terrific reader.

Returning from a covert mission, Mitch Rapp was publicly hailed by the president for his role in the fight against terrorism. After years of working in the shadows, Rapp was caught in the media spotlight - and marked for death by virtually every terrorist in the world. Now a CIA advisor, Rapp is ready to battle terror far from the front lines. But when a Navy SEAL team in the Philippines is ambushed, all evidence points to a leak within the U.S. State Department. And a greater threat lurks....

He tells a good story, as always, and Rapp is an intriguing if rather one dimensional character. But Flynn tends to get carried away with his diatribes against anyone who believes that the CIA should have any limits whatsoever on its authority. Most people who have read more than one of the series will be CIA fans - or else they'd be reading something else. But to devote whole chapters to condemning all politicians who believe espionage has limits is excessive, and detracts from his story. The only problem with audiobooks is that it's hard to skip the bad parts
