"Shallow, simple story"
After having listened to Diana Gabaldon's unbelievably written Outlander series, this book was a huge disappointment! The story was shallow and simple. There was minimal character development, and I didn't feel invested in the Daniel-Eva relationship. The narrator had too much inflection, and the sing-song nature of it drove me crazy at first. After forcing myself to continue listening, it finally got a little more interesting around chapter 37. I liked the twist at the end, but overall, I wouldn't waste my time or a credit on this one.
