At a New England boarding school, a sex scandal is about to break. Even more shocking than the sexual acts themselves is the fact that they were caught on videotape. A Pandora's box of revelations, the tape triggers a chorus of voices - those of the men, women, teenagers, and parents involved in the scandal - that details the ways in which lives can be derailed or destroyed in one foolish moment.

    "Required Reading"
    Overall

Regardless of some of the book's flaws, this should be required reading for High Schoolers. If anything, it illustrates how just ONE stupid action (no matter how stellar your life so far) can come with disastrous consequences and impact you and your family's life FOREVER, which as we all know is a very long time. I personally found the ending uplifting, as at least one character found wisdom and salvation. I think it is a book meant to be read and discussed, and if it only saved one teenager from doing something stupid, well what more could you ask for?

    Overall

This book was not at all what I thought it was going to be. I started listening to it on the ride home from dropping my son at college, and just couldn't get into it. I loved The Tales of the Otari, and thought it was going to be like that. I was very wrong. I did decide to give it a second try and was I glad I did. I became mesmerized by the story and really started to care about the characters.
I thought the narration was great.
It is one of those stories though, where a minor character occasionally tells or shares his or her own story which does nothing to really further the plot. In the end, it is a simple story of a truly honorable man, and scattered throughout are acts of faith, courage, and love.

    Overall

I like everyone else waited for this book, but unfortunately this book ends as though there is a fourth book. It's as though the author did not know how to finish the trilogy...and so he didn't!
By all means read this book, because you'll be anxious to know how it all ends..the trouble is, it doesn't! Ah Mr. Twelve Hawks, I cannot believe how unbelievably frustrated you made me feel. The message you were trying to convey was lost...for me because you decided to make the ending so incongruent!

About three things I was certain. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him, and I didn't know how dominant that part might be, that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

I hate vampire stories....that being said....I hemmed and hawed about reading this book. The Harry Potter podcasters suggested it...but the whole vampire thing made me resistant. Finally looking for something to read and going on a road trip, I subcumed and downloaded it... I have since read it three times and finished both other books...I hate to admit it but this middle-aged female found this teen story, sensual and compelling...go figure...I have since bought at least 4 copies of the book for my daughter and many of her friends...my suggestion is stop reading these reviews, download the book, start listening...and ENJOY!
