Autumn

I am finding this novel rather difficult to get into. It seems like a hodge podge of ideas with no coherant storyline. I'm just not caring about the characters, and I am bored by yet anotehr masochistic villain. The albino monk was enough from the first book.

I tried. I thought this might make an interesting story, however I felt the narration was very amateurish. I felt like I was being told the story, rather than shown, and although there is only 45 minutes to this audible title, I gave up. I just wasn't interested.

I love this series. This wasn't my favorite episode though. Felt a bit like a parody of Rush Limbaugh in the future.

I thought it was clever, but I didn't like the Segway into earth politics.

This wasn't my favorite segment. It was still good, but not something I would listen to again.

I felt the main character, his wife and kids were pretty generic. There was no real personality to any of the characters. They could've been anybody. There was no real sense of danger. . Main character lurves his wife and goes across the country pulling a cart to reach her. Wife remains steadfast to hubbie, despite not knowing whether he is alive or dead. This just wasn't that exciting. The wife and hubbie were mr. and mr. generic.

The characters needed a personality implant. Loving your wife and hubbie do not count as personality traits. They all were just kinda meh.

The narration was fine.

I thought the characters were good people, and I liked the concept. I just thought it lacked oompf and the character development was weak.

Perhaps if the protag had been single. Or even if the wife felt hubbie was truly dead this would've been more suspenseful. Wife's unfailing belief hubbie was alive and coming back, just made his return just a matter of time, rather than a big surprise. The magic survival rate of the protags despite doing stupid stuff, gave the main characters a bit of a charmed quality. Nothing bad can happen- because they are the main characters.

I was intrigued by the plot summary

I found the main character bothered me at times. He spends too much time thinking of ways to romance his client instead of solving crime. The romance was cliche too, and honestly rather boring as the heroine was generic and beautiful, but didn't have much else going for her.

There is actually very little mystery, so having him be a PI didn't add anything. The reader is shown what is happening from the protagonist and antagonists's perspective so the main character really doesn't solve anything as he and the listener are told what is happening most of the time. The big bad guy and their plot were resolved too quickly so the suspense and impending peril were kind of anti-climatic.

Overall, this was ok. It could've been better.

The voices were decent.

Not really. This is a beach read. Easy enough to listen to, but nothing I felt I HAD to listen to.

I didn't like the dialog or writing. The male hero was a boor.

I just didn't care about the characters and I felt the hero was just stereotypiclal.

I found the narrators narration of the hero to be annoying. Honeysuckle! She cries, striving to sound in the throes of passion. It just sounded goofy. Granted, it isn't the narrator's fault the writing isn't that great, but her narration made it worse.

I liked the idea of seeing a supernatural community on the verge of coming out of the proverbial closet.

I was disappointed I wasted a credit on this.

I don't like books about teens. When I picked this up I had no clue this was a YA romance. Sorry, when the whiny teen character's thoughts and voice began whining about seeing ghosts, I realized I'd made a mistake in buying this one. DELETE.

I tried to listen to this, but it failed to grab me. The narrator didn't help matters as he didn't enthuse me either. After 15 minutes I gave up.

The hero cheated on the heroine, and it is more of the same conflict between the two protagonists like the first one. I guess its just me, but I don't like it when the h&H hate eachother or cheat. It killed the story for me, as I just didn't like the hero any longer.

I couldn't handle the boy/girl narration on this one. it was exhausting. I wish they'd stuck with one narrator and left it at that, but I had to stop listening it was super annoying.

This storyline has all the makings of a hallmark made for tv movie. I loved the first "a little princess" and for some reason, I thought the author might actually follow the adventures of Sarah. Instead, this story follows the girls 'left behind' at the boarding school. Unfortunatley, life in the boarding school is pretty dull. I find it difficult to imagine that the school mistresses would be so cruel as to provide no entertainment for the youngsters in their care. The narration was good, and if more happened... I might give it a higher rating. Other than that, this was ok, not great.
