Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told....

The first few chapters of this book are filled with pop culture references from the 70's and 80's. Since I was born in the mid 80's, most of these flew right past me and I'm sure obscured some of the humor. If you're a baby boomer or Gen X, it might work for you, but I couldn't get past it. Maybe I'll finish listening if I have nothing else in my library, but it wasn't for me.

Also, a lot of the humor is based around being a nerdy, not attractive girl, and since I'm a guy, I couldn't really relate.

Neal Stephenson is a blazing new force on the sci-fi scene. With the groundbreaking cyberpunk novel Snow Crash, he has "vaulted onto the literary stage." It weaves virtual reality, Sumerian myth, and just about everything in between with a cool, hip cybersensibility - in short, it is the gigathriller of the information age.

    A. Tuck says: "Classic Stephenson"

Scifi shows its age quickly, but plenty of the ideas are still relevant. Great narration, character voices different enough to tell them apart, but not over done.

Sound effects and babbling between chapters is pretty annoying, but eventually you get used to it. I guess that's a feature of older audio book production?
