If one George Carlin audio is funny, then two are funnier and three must be funniest, right? That's our thinking behind this new collection. t's a HighBridge library of laugh-out-loud, award-winning recordings featuring George himself performing many of his best bits.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

After Tina Fey's hilarious and light self-deprecating humor with Bossypants, George Carlin came across as unbelievably negative and critical. His humor brought me down, and I think humor should lift you up.

Would you ever listen to anything by George Carlin again?

Not likely, and I thought I liked him.

Have you listened to any of George Carlin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No.

  • Cleaning House: A Mom's Twelve-Month Experiment to Rid Her Home of Youth Entitlement

Do your kids think that clean, folded clothes magically appear in their drawers? Do they roll their eyes when you suggest they clean the bathroom? Do you think it's your job to pave their road to success? As parents, so often we hover, race in to save, and do everything we can for our kids - unintentionally reinforcing their belief that the world revolves around them. When Kay Wyma realized that an attitude of entitlement had crept into her home, this mother of five got some attitude of her own.

Would you try another book from Kay Willis Wyma and/or Tavia Gilbert?

    No.

Has Cleaning House turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No.

Would you be willing to try another one of Tavia Gilbert’s performances?

No. Her whiny kid voices set my teeth on edge.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Irritation. I couldn't wait for it to end.

    Any additional comments?

If the author had said one more time, "Have I mentioned I'm _______?" or "Future Hoarders of America..." my head might have exploded.

Yes. Yes you have mentioned it. Several times. Too many times.

The names (pseudonyms) of her kids are ridiculous. Snopes? Really?

I have kids. Not everything out of their mouths is an irritating whine. In this rendition, every time a child spoke it was like nails on a chalkboard.

    The Wyma's have money.

Lots of Bible quotes and Jesus references. I guess I should have done my homework. If I had known this was a "Christian" book, I would have never gotten it.

I think it's a sin to let your kids drink Dr. Pepper (or any soft drink for that matter).

  • Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking

At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking, reading to partying; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over brainstorming in teams. Although they are often labeled "quiet," it is to introverts that we owe many of the great contributions to society--from van Gogh’s sunflowers to the invention of the personal computer.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It's an interesting view into the minds of introverts and extroverts--psychologically, socially, and culturally.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    N/A

Would you be willing to try another one of Kathe Mazur’s performances?

No. Her narration drove me nuts. Just because this book is about introverts does not mean that you have to narrate the book as if you are trying to make someone fall asleep. I'm an introvert. I don't speak breathily (if that's a word).

    Any additional comments?

I really liked the book, but the narration was not my cup of tea.

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told....

What did you love best about Bossypants?

Tina Fey's light, self-deprecating humor was a delight to listen to. I actually think that people who read the book missed out. You must listen to Tina Fey read her story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bossypants?

So many snippets of fun from her hair to her clothing style--all of it very relatable.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes.

    Any additional comments?

If you are looking for some fun mind (ear?) candy, get this. I want to listen to it again.
