I'm a hardcore listener! I find time for a min of 6 books a month. Sci-Fi & Fantasy is mostly where I live, but I can stretch to others.

The next-to-last novel in Stephen King's seven-volume magnum opus, Song of Susannah is a fascinating key to the unfolding mystery of the Dark Tower.

ok, so I write this after listening to the whole DT series.... and it suffers because of that.

The characters and their development, the performance and production are first rate and I listened to all of the books in sequence. But in the end, and all things must come to an end, I found myself back at the beginning. And no better for the journey. The Beams, the Rose and the sidgles I will accept, but what of the residual technologies and elder peoples in the worlds we traveled through..... I am left empty and wanting, but I think not for more.

This book is very good and will naturally lead you to want the next book, but the flight path of the series ends suddenly when it eventually collides with the appearance of the Dark Tower. If the journey takes 1000 years to complete, will the next cycle (representing a century ?) have the tower being 20 stories tall, with each flight of stairs being 20 long....

The saga of two young friends trapped in an endless nightmare of suspicion and surveillance, of cyber-programmed servants and a ruling class with century-long lives – and the enigmatic woman who dominates them all.

Future worlds, political intrigue, ambition and most of all psychological genetic manipulation. If you can fit all of these things under your hat, then you will need to strap-in for this entertaining listen. I was willing to accept the transfer of personality traits from donor to next iteration host (we are still talking Sci-Fi right.....). All you need is a master plan and the time to make it happen, oh yeah, a bio-mass recycler and no one else smarter than you to get into your way.

All good things must come to an end, Constant Listener, and not even Stephen King can write a story that goes on forever. The tale of Roland Deschain's relentless quest for the Dark Tower has, the author fears, sorely tried the patience of those who have followed it from its earliest chapters. But attend to it a while longer, if it pleases you, for this volume is the last, and often the last things are best.

I was lov'n the book and the series, ... until we walked into the tower. I even think that meeting Steven King (in the book) was a neat literary trick, although I initially bemoaned the ploy.

The characters and their development, the performance and production are first rate and I listened to all of the books in sequence. But in the end, and all things must come to an end, I found myself back at the beginning.

This book is very good, but the flight path of the series ends suddenly when it eventually collides with the appearance of the Dark Tower. There is potential to continue the story, but the investment in all of the characters and settings would be lost to everyone but Rolland.

Richard Forthrast created T’Rain, a multibillion-dollar, massively multiplayer online role-playing game. But T’Rain’s success has also made it a target. Hackers have struck gold by unleashing REAMDE, a virus that encrypts all of a player’s electronic files and holds them for ransom. They have also unwittingly triggered a deadly war beyond the boundaries of the game’s virtual universe - and Richard is at ground zero.

Superb listen. Well developed characters. Just enough interwoven plots, with plausible reality. Contemporary fiction (I hope) that made it VERY difficult to put down. The limiting factor being that it is nearly impossible to listen to all of it in one sitting. Another excellent piece from Stephenson, possibly better that cyber-punk.
