There's a nasty flu going round. An epidemic, they call it. The posters say to cover your mouth when you sneeze, and throw away the tissue. But such simple measures won't stop this flu. Because when you catch the flu, armed police come and lock you in your house to die alone. When you catch this flu, it kills you in days. And when you catch this flu, two hours after it's killed you, your eyelids snap open again....

Would you try another book from Wayne Simmons and/or Michael Kramer?

    Nope

What was most disappointing about Wayne Simmons’s story?

None of the characters were interesting or believable. He gave me no reason to care about any of them.

Which character – as performed by Michael Kramer – was your favorite?

I wanted them all to be eaten by the zombies in the end.

What character would you cut from Flu?

I stopped listening when I realized that I wanted all the characters to just die already. I was rooting for the zombies. Ugh.

    Any additional comments?

The zombies-in-Ireland theme is pretty cool, but the execution was atrocious.

  • The Return of the King: Book Three in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy

The Return of the King is the towering climax to J. R. R. Tolkien’s trilogy that tells the saga of the hobbits of Middle-earth and the great War of the Rings. In this concluding volume, Frodo and Sam make a terrible journey to the heart of the Land of the Shadow in a final reckoning with the power of Sauron. In addition to narrating the prose passages, Rob Inglis sings the trilogy’s songs and poems a capella, using melodies composed by Inglis and Claudia Howard, the Recorded Books studio director.

Would you listen to The Return of the King again? Why?

It is a classic adventure tale.

What other book might you compare The Return of the King to and why?

George R. R. Martin's Ice and Fire novels.

What does Rob Inglis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He has a good storytelling voice.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

What a great, long epic tale.

    Any additional comments?

I like that the Appendices are included.
