Third generation Texas Ranger Tyler Steele is the last of a dying breed - a modern-day cowboy hero living in a world that doesn't quite understand his powerful sense of right and wrong and instinct to defend those who can't defend themselves. Samantha and her daughter, Hope, are on the run from a seemingly inescapable situation. They are in danger, desperate, and alone. Though they are strangers, Ty knows he can help - protecting the innocent is what he does best.

Dennis says: "A mans story, a love story?"
    "Predictable and disjointed."

What would have made Thunder and Rain better?

The main character's relationship with the woman Sam did not seem realistic. She and the main character did not seem to be appropriately concerned about the rape of the child. They did not seem to follow up appropriately on the matter.

What was most disappointing about Charles Martin’s story?

There was too much conversation and "speech making." The character of Sam was not likable and did not earn my respect or sympathy.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The narrator's voice matched the story.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment - a waste of time. I read it for a new Book Club in which the long-time members had read other books by the author. They were also disappointed.
