Michelle Maxwell has just blown her future with the Secret Service. Against her instincts, she let a presidential candidate out of her sight to comfort a grieving widow. Then, behind closed doors, the politician whose safety was her responsibility vanished into thin air.

    Overall

Following Split Second was next to impossible to follow. Maybe it was my audible player, which I did notice had switched me to Part II, before I was even into Part I, but it just became impossible to follow the links. I am a complete Balducci fan, but I just don't think this novel translated to tape well, at least not tape as ready by the reader. I'll get the hardcover and give it another go.

  • Leading with Soul: An Uncommon Journey of Spirit

The best selling Leading with Soul is a contemporary parable chronicling the journey of a beleaguered executive's quest for passion and purpose in work and in life. True to the essence of leadership, Bolman and Deal offer an invitation to participate with them in understanding the ties that bind spirituality and leadership together. Interludes between the story chapters explore the everyday application of lessons learned along the way and provide practical ways to get the most from work and life.

I have been searching for a truly good book on spirituality in the work place, but could not get through this book. I'm writing one of my own, and am learning what not to write. Especially disappointed because I've used one of these authors' books as a text in my college management class.

Tami Hoag, author of Dust to Dust, returns with "a definite winner," says Booklist. In a trailer in a Florida swamp, time is running out for Erin Seabright. A pawn in a kidnapper's terrifying game for a ransom no one can pay, her last hope is a washed-up ex-cop who has already lost it all - not once, but twice.

One of the best mysteries I've listened to in a long time. I actually -- for the first time -- got out my ear set and listened in bed -- and so spent a few very tired days. An absolutely terrific and well written book.
