At first the book seems tongue in cheek, but when you think about what John is saying you say - wow
John's repeated demonstation of what govenment does and what they should not do - legally.
emotion - having the auther read is great
There are lots of tidbits and that is why I have not earase the book - must listen to again
Yes , the complilation of stories, with explanation, Gave me a deeper understanding of the brutality of a pirates life
The examination of many of the pirates of the time and clearing of misconseption of ther life - For instance "walking the plank" has only one recording occurance.
All were great , since it was about many pirates
The description of the torture , the description made these new films of robots and beasts look tame .
A must read for anyone interested in that time period and the Brotherhood of Pirates.
Jay Snyder excitment and change of voices. Constant evolving danger
Vince Flynn's books because of the suspense and close calls for his life.
The Grey Man
The excitement is not for the faint of heart.
This book cut into my sleep time since I could not turn it off.;
The story begins with a young man, 17, recruited by the Russians to be indoctrinated into their expansion plans in eastern European as early as the late 1920’s. I found it interesting seeing WWII through Russian eyes and planning.
There are several, all revolving around how this young man had to watch what he said, who he said it to, and how those that didn’t were never seen again
A little more excitement at times of danger.
Seeing WWII though Russian eyes.
If you are interested in WWII, most stories are from the Western point of view - this is from our Russian"Allies". Very different approach
Flynn has always made Mich an active and in danger spy. Too much bed time for me.
Yes - he i s not the problem
It is not so much cutting one particular character,as it is have Mitch Rapp more involec withthe story.
I will ready more of Flynn, we all have off days.
Understanding our Involument
Unique , General Stanley McChrystal has personalized the 3 wars that we are presently involed. We see how from a young boy his destiny was to be person in charge. His desired to have open and transparent communication was his biggest asset.
The inflection of his voice and timing adds to the excitment and drama of the story
NO, much of what is presented must be thought about ,reflected on, so you understand the General's involement.
With our present administration's foreign policy, this book explains the questions of why. I don't feel this soldier was listen to by our administration . The culture, prior events, and tribes of the area, General Stanley McChrystal's account is current and honest- A rare attribute today.
The research into how a non-political figure can become President so quickly
The interview of people in his past and how he has abandoned or does not associate with them because it is no longer necessary .
How money and power can make anyone President of the United States.
The building of a secret compartment for a missle with in the sailboat
He held my interest.
The historical and emothional presentation must be listen to more than once - As a student of WWII , I never realized the church was so involved with the elimination of Hitler. This will stay in my library
The complete history of the Bonhoeffer family - the first book seems little dull, but is necessary to understand the develpment of the story. The back and forth in time was also helpful.
Could not possibly do this, too intense and need time to think about it - This is not a "fun" quick story.
A must read from a historical and religious point of view.
