Five years ago, Aegis Security op manager Marley Addison's lover died in a South American raid gone horribly wrong...or so she thought. When she receives a phone call telling her that he is still very much alive and in danger, she vows to bring him home safely, even if Aegis CEO and former Navy SEAL Jake Ryder has kept her out of the field for the last few years. Then Jake shows up in Colombia to help her, leaving Marley annoyed...and more than a little distracted by her alarmingly handsome boss.

I have mixed feelings about this story. On the one hand, it was well written, it had an interesting plot, the characters were well drawn, but on the other hand, Jake was such a jerk throughout that I wasn't convinced of his change of heart at the end.

The narrator did a good job, although I prefer a man's voice on these military/special ops type stories. But that's just my opinion.

    P. J. and Cole were sharpshooting rivals on the same KGI team and enjoyed a spirited, uncomplicated camaraderie. Until the night they gave in to their desires and suddenly took their relationship one step further. In the aftermath of their one-night stand, they're called out on a mission that goes terribly wrong, and P. J. walks away from KGI, resolved not to drag her teammates into the murky shadows she’s poised to delve into.

Where to start? If the decision to pass the narration on to some else was Mr. Berkley’s, I completely understand. What a lazy story. There were all kinds of plots that Ms. Banks could’ve used for PJ’s novel. There wasn’t even any build up to the rape, the situation was introduced & anyone could see what would happen to her from a mile away. If Ms. Banks had to write a rape story, why not use one of the men? That’s a tale that hasn’t been told a million times. How would an alpha male cope with the humiliation?. So many of the plot elements were so obvious, there really was no suspense to it at all.

The man they got to replace Mr. Berkley was not very good, honestly. Giving the Kellys southern accents drove me up the wall.
I don’t know if I’ll keep this book, let alone listen to any more because of the new narrator. I may just get the ebook & use my own imagination as to what everyone sounds like!

In an underground club, a high-ranking public official spends his secret nights indulging in fantasies as exciting as they are depraved. For a seductive employee of the Dungeon, it's her job to fulfill them. But she's playing a far more dangerous game - one of blackmail, politics, and murder that reaches into the shadow world of the Ghostwalkers, and the creation of a spectacular, one-of-a-kind new weapon of defense. But when a dictator makes his own catastrophic moves, the Ghostwalkers have no choice but to bring in two major players - a man and woman both driven by passion and revenge.

For as far back as she can remember, Airiana Ridell has always been aware of her extraordinary gift. She can intuit revealing and illuminating "patterns" in the air around her - whether in a spray of mist, in billowing clouds, or in the dense swirls of an impenetrable fog. Her abilities led to her placement in a secret government training facility when she was a child, but everything changed after her mother was murdered.

I love the entire Sea Haven Series. Especially how we get to visit with previous couples in each succeeding novel. The ongoing story arc is one of my favorite things about it.

In this particular book, Arianna & Maxim make a great couple. However, The 1st few time I listened, it bugged me that Maxim got mad at Arianna about the mark, since she was given no choice, but now I can see how he would feel resentful at having that control taken from him. And he got over it fast enough, lol. She was entirely too forgiving imo, but that’s just me. I always want the man to grovel more than he does!

Usually, Phil Gigante is a well loved narrator, but somehow he doesn’t seem to know how to pronounce Levi’s name. Even though all the narrators before him had no trouble. Every time Phil calls him “Lev-ee”, I yell “Lee-vi” back at him, lol. How hard is it to use the American pronunciation? It’s the brand of the most famous jeans in the US for crying out loud. Plus, all 3 brothers are pretending to be Americans & have American accents. You can tell this really bothers me! 🙄😜

Overall, I recommend the book with the above reservation, lol. Plus, it sets up the next installment in the series very nicely.

I liked this story, but it wasn’t as compelling as some of the previous books in this series. There was some deus ex machina going on that I never like to see in a story, so that probably had some bearing on my opinion.

I did like seeing Anna learning to control her Omega gift in this story. That’s part of the fun of an ongoing series. You get to revisit favorite characters & see them grow & evolve.

Anna never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a violent attack...and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she'd learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value as a pack member - and as his mate.

This story starts immediately after the events in the short story, Alpha & Omega in the Shifting Shadows compilation. You can get the short story as a stand alone, but it still costs 1 credit & the compilation gives you many short stories in Mercy Thompson’s world for the price of one.

I love Anna & Charles, they are so good together! I also like that the conflict came thru a different character & got Bran involved. So often in the MT books, he’s just a powerful figure head waiting in the shadows.

The narrator did a good job; lovely character voices & except for Bran, I could always tell who was speaking, even without the identifying names. Highly recommend. 👍👍

I don’t read many contemporary romances where there isn’t some kind of life & death danger facing the main couple, so I wasn’t sure I’d like a book with only emotional conflict. This was great! I enjoyed the plot twists & especially that she made him grovel before she took him back, lol. I wish more romance authors would do that to their jerky heroes!

For a book named “Cry No More”, it’s ironic that it makes me cry every time I read/listen to it! This isn’t one of my favorite LH stories, but it is still very good. I never like when there is an easy reconciliation between the H&h, especially when he did something so terrible. I always want the H to suffer/grovel more, lol. Other than that, I would recommend this book to anyone, it is well worth the credit.

This book was eagerly anticipated. I just love all the Drake Sisters/Sisters of the Heart novels & was thrilled that world would be continued in a spinoff series. I read reviews that complained about too much sex & there is a lot, but I just skip ahead till I’m back to the story, so it doesn’t bother me. As for the story itself, I liked it. I knew Reaper’s past would be horrific, so that wasn’t a shock, but I did like that he wasn’t miraculously cured because Anya loved him, as happens in so many romance novels. They had to work at it, even though in reality the things they did wouldn’t be enough to heal those kinds of wounds.

I was a bit disappointed in Jim Frangione narration this time. Not that he’s a big voice actor, but I often couldn’t distinguish between characters in a conversation, even between men & women.

Oh well, I’m still looking forward to the next book in the series. Maybe between Lana & Pierce? 😜

They say Paris is always a good idea.... You know what I say? Paris would be a much better idea if I spoke the dang language. I can't even board the metro to visit the Louvre without ending up at the Moulin Rouge, and let's not even mention how I'll ever make it through a day at my new office. Fortunately my company hooks me up with my own personal translator. Ooh la la. Or should I say bloody hell? Because he's charming, witty, and British, and he brings the city to life for me.

This was so different from the stories I’ve been listening to. There was insta-attraction, but not insta-love for 1 thing. They got to know each other as friends before diving into a sexual relationship. I love that! For another, I enjoyed that the hero wasn’t an alpha male, but still had protective/possessive tendencies, he just didn’t go overboard with them.

Richard Armitage’s performance made the hero totally swoon worthy! I would be happy listening to him read the dictionary. #sigh.
The woman did a good job too, but she was handicapped by having an American accent, instead of British, lol. It’s just not on the same level. 😜
